I'm looking at getting a HIS Radeon R9 290 Boost 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card on the this week only deal.

What is the minimum wattage id need for a decent branded PSU?

The bit-tech 290 review using a mildly overclocked i5 (3570k @ 4.2GHz) and at load was pulling 418W from the wall, not from the PSU so system consumption was lower yet.

I'd get a decent 550W were it my system.

i suppose the next question is which one chould i buy?

was looking at a Seasonic G series 550w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply

will it fit in a bitfenix prodigy?

I would get the XFX Core Edition, 550 or 650 watt, its a SeaSonic in a different case, i have had the 750w one for 2 or 3 years, its been faultless and solid, i sense many more years of reliable stable computing from it yet, the 12v rail has not budged at all from new, usually as they get older that falls away.

They do Modular and not, the Core Edition is not and inexpensive because of that.

Modular is about £5 or £10 more, i think the smallest one they do is the 650W XFX XXX
