**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Well thats bye bye to my 360:(, went and traded it in along with a lot of accessories i managed to get in the yrs ive had it. Traded in my mums iphone4 as well and ended up with £550 worth of credit.
Worked out the console with COD ghosts and Forza5 with an extra wireless controller and 2 plug n play charge kits. Was meant to get the day one console with FIFA 14 but seeing as i have absolutely no use for it, asked them to if i could change it so i only get Forza and Ghost...works out somehow cheaper by £50. So wont be paying more than £100 if that to get the console.

Looking forward to getting the XB1, not sure if ill go to the midnight launch though. Might pick it up the day after.

A guy at work is saying the Start Stop stuff doesnt work with disc based games,

Latest rumour that I cant find any back up for or info on.

His agrument is that eveytime you go into the game it has to spin up the Bluray drive to check that the game is still in there so it freezes the game for 5-10 seconds.

Anyone know if there is any truth in this or is it more ramblings from a rabid sony fanboi? the same guy is a kinectophobe who thinks the NSA wants to know what an IT nerd is looking at on the internet. The answer is not hard to guess, what do most 19 year single blokes look at on the internet?

Wait till your married, the NSA has nothing on a wifes intuition.
 
No doubt there might be a disc check and a small pause for that, but I cant see that being an issue, especially as realistically the game will be played off the HDD so any game caching wouldnt need the BD engaged.

I wonder if you can pause a BD game and then watch a BD and resume the game afterwards when you put the game BD in?

More accurately, my wife will not be happy, as she was the one buying it! I might swap it to the PS4 version instead, though that would mean picking up a 2nd DS4 earlier than I planned to. Will see how the MOT pans out at the weekend and see what I can afford.

Probably release on or after release date so pre-orders cannot be cancelled :p

It is worrying though, surely the only thing it can be a such a late stage is optimisation so points to xbox really lacking grunt of ps4 (even more so than stats suggest) or the xbox is hard to optimise for. Both pure speculation but can't think of a specific xbox reason apart from them.

I just can't see any reason for it to be delayed on the xbox one. Surely it's going to be pretty much the same as the 360 version which hardly pushes the boundaries of the consoles graphical power.

It makes me wonder if watch dogs really needed extra Polish on all consoles or if they was just struggling with the xbox one version and ms asked them to delay it on all systems to stop a huge embarrassment with it being one of the major release titles.

Why would I choose the XB1 over the PS4?

Controllers are comparable now, hardware is weaker on the XB1 too.

What separates them both?

I'm running out of time to make up my mind. lol

The same could be said about Call of Duty, yet both Xbox One and PS4 versions struggle from framerate issues during the campaign, problems that are not there during the 360 and PS3 games.
