**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

So who's decided to go all digital with the Xbox One?

I have some games pre-ordered but I'm tempted to cancel and download them instead. Or I might just buy one disc so I have something to play on release day while the others download :)

im going digital on keepers like forza and digital only titles like the golf game (name escapes me:roll eyes:)

for digital its about price to me, and as nobody knows what the prices are going to be yet its still up in the air.

Wish they'd say something to be honest.

I updated my card info on shopto with my new address but just noticed it didn't update the delivery address :(

Xbox is due to go to the wrong place, hopefully can get that sorted!!

Powerstar Golf, a title that I also think looks pretty interesting.

Highly doubtful. When I changed my card details on ShopTo I was told that the first two orders with the new card would have to go to my invoice address, rather than my work address, for security reasons. It's a pain but at least I got the day off work for it.

I have 6 orders over the last 2 years to my old address but because i didnt want to lose my preorder when i moved I updated the details as it suggested which charged the card fine but didn't update the delivery.

The card is the same card as before just with a change of address, but as I say I've had that old address registered for a few years and had multiple orders.

I am not at the old address nor have any contact there, so id have to cancel the order if not... I don't want to lose my day one edition!!

Well shopto sent me an email to say HEY Y U NO PAY MONZ?!

I knew the details were up to date so time for phone time with the bank. Turns out they decided now is a good time to do a pre-emptive fraud strike on it. That's right, no dodgy transactions yet, I'm just at risk.. apparently..

I like a good golf game, and that does look quite interesting, but I'd also want a proper golf game so I hope one comes out.

You guys make me lol. I really don't understand yours or other people obsession with "its a next gen console it should be able to do 1080p" The current gen can do 1080p so ofcourse this new gen can easily do it.

Very few games this generation have been native 1080P but as both consoles came out when 720P was just taking off that's understandable.

Maybe some devs are choosing to run higher graphical settings and only run at 720p but that is their choice not a limit of the console.

Multiplatform games are likely to run 720P on Xbox One, developers will probably program games at 720P for Xbox One and then use the PS4's extra GPU power to get an almost free resolution increase.

Heck, when I played BF3 on my PC I couldn't run it 60fps 1080p on max settings, lowered a few settings and I got it to run steady 60fps.

PC's are highly inefficient compared to consoles, developers can't communicate directly with the hardware that's why AMD Mantle is being promoted, plus the highest settings on PC (Ultra etc) aren't really optimized and are just there to offer a little bit more visual difference even if the performance impact is huge.

It's my honest opinion that inside a couple of years we'll see the vast majority of Xbox One games at either 900p or 1080p, as developers learn to get the most out of the hardware. The PS4 versions of games may look a little better, but I think eventually we'll see a parity in resolution, or at least the ability to have that parity. Whether developers use it, or whether they drop the res to say 900p and have the exact same effects as the PS4 game, will obviously be a design choice made by the developers.

That's based on nothing more than a hunch on my part, having watched how games have developed over the past few gens from the launch titles to the ones released a few years later.

So what's the deal with PS4 vs Xbox one?... I really don't know, and don't know where to look for hard facts - mainly I'm too lazy.

What I mean by my question is many people are slating the 'one because its launch titles are 720p 30fps... but is the PS4 massively better - are its launch titles 1080p 60fps?

The PS4 is more powerful and with everything else (engine/texture/resolution) being equal it will have a higher frame rate. That doesn't mean it'll hit 1080p 60fps in every game and doesn't mean that the XB1 can't hit 1080p 60fps in any games at all. Ultimately it will be down to developers to get the most from each machine, the PS4 looks to have more GPU power although that won't necessarily mean it gets the best games. That comes down to your preference on announced exclusives and whether your magic ball is working well.

This has been discussed to death here and on pretty much every gaming forum/website around. It's hard to understand why this is still being discussed so much especially in a thread that ought to be focused mainly on XB1 games/news.

Had the same thing. Was fixed the same day after I opened a support ticket with them so do it now if you haven't already.

Just noticed a recent pair of emails to me from MS.

First one telling me my credit card had expired and must be updated for my pre-order on the MS store. The second saying that was a mistake, just to double check my address to make sure it goes where it is meant to.

Funniest thing is, don't even have a credit card. :p

Edit: MS is taking payment on the 15th.
