Hi guys, another request from me.

This time I need a machine spec'd for office, browsing, CAD and photoshop work.
I have just brought a Samsung 971D to use with this new base unit at 1440p

Budget of £700 and will not need keyboard/mouse/monitor but I will need an OS.

Build away!

As with all these work builds, you should first check:
1. how much memory you actually use, whether 4, 8, 16, 32 (or more!) GB
2. whether you can make use of GPU acceleration

I would like to go with 16gb, I think that is enough.
As for the GPU, happy to spend the £90, I assume i'm going to need some kind of discrete GPU to power the monitor at 1440p anyway.

The builds look good. Would you say the extra is worth it for the i7? Seeing as the machine would probably utilise the i7?

Forgot to mention about the storage. I would like to go with an SSD - probably the Kingston hyper x. The storage will be centrally on a NAS like system although I do have the previous machines HDD I can also use.

Not me. Mine was more cost effective but yours is very good. :)

I actually was a bit dubious with the GTX640 not having the dual link DVI so that I could get 1440p, after some research it seems it does - so I will go with that after all.

As for the K or non K. I guess this is correct, the benefits of the non K outweigh the K even though the price is so small at the moment. However I can actually get the non K 4771 for the same price as the non K 4770.

Revised build with different case.
