ok call me thick here but it sayd the xbox one is 4k ready but they are struggling with 1080p at the minute for games do you think we will see the xbox one still be fully around when 4k is the norm and see any games that can actually do 4k ?

Gaming at 4k as you know it is not possible with 4K on XB1 and PS4. Only video or some small time arcade game.
 
Saying either console is 4K ready is bit like saying a tractor is ready for the Nürburgring. There is nothing to technically stop developers doing it but the results are unlikely to be impressive.
 
I don't really know where common sense went to be honest.

There was a time you could buy a 720/1080p screen when they were new, that basically very little content was available, yet people still bought them and it was nice that devices they bought before a 1080p screen was even about actually connected and worked.

Many people got a 1080p screen, without a bluray player, without a 360/ps3, without sky hd. Content and devices came, but it was pretty good that you could plug in those old devices.

Wouldn't it suck if you wanted to buy a 4k screen in 6 months or 5 years, and you X1/ps4 literally couldn't connect to it? 4k ready means if you stick a cable in the back and connect it to a 4k screen, it will be able to output a 4k signal, it will upscale to 4k, and it won't blow up when you try it.

4k ready and "this device is fantastic when gaming at 4k resolution", aren't the same statements.

It's like the 290x it's called 4k ready, because this is the generation of cards they have committed to provide 4k output support and will work to ensure it. That is all it means. People will get 4k screens while they have exceedingly little 4k content, if everything you have works with them, you won't lose much(with good upscaling) and when enough screens are out there working the content will follow.

Very dissapointed with Sony this morning so looking to make the switch.

Can i use it with my skyhd box at all? I know it was a feature just wondering if it's day one.
 
Happy bunny now ... thanks to the earlier heads up I have pre-ordered the Console and FIFA SE for allegedly release day delivery :)

The main game I want though is Forza 5. I went to pre-order this at Game but am unsure if they do release day delivery as going through checkout shows 2-3 days as only option ?
Anyone know were I can get Forza LE for release day delivery ?

Isn't it a GAME exclusive, same as Forza 4 LE was (I chickened out and ordered the standard, although wishing I'd gone LE now....) so its there or, well, ebay really.
