I admit it, i was watching 'im a celebritity' last night (an ironicly titled show in my opinion). I watched to my digust/delight how Joey 'essex' struggled to read a analogue watch.

..but i was more shocked by my mums admission that my sister still can't read an analogue watch. She's 21...

I was Speechless.

One of our lands great landmarks is a gaint clock (Big Ben), its pretty sad to hear some people can't read it.

Is this more common than i think?

I suppose with the fact that pretty much everyone these days has a phone with a digital watch on it, it's probably unsurprising.

Makes you wonder what they are teaching in schools nowadays to be honest. This is basic stuff that everyone should just know!

Pretty sure the Romans are furious that you can't tell the time just by looking up and seeing where the sun is in the sky...

If you think about it, reading an analogue clock isn't some sort of essential life skill is it? I'm more "shocked" and "speechless" at bad spelling, poor punctuation and random capitalisation of words :p

Why would kids these days need too? They all get a iPhone or equivalent young that has the time on for them or press select on sky remote to see the time.

I face a far more tragic problem.

I have a backwards clock at home. Other than my watch, it's the only analogue clock in the house. Some of my family loved it when they visited so they got one as well. Now at home I have a backwards clock, when I visit some of my family, there's a backwards clock. This is the norm for me. When I see a normal clock, it takes me a second to realise it isn't backwards and correct myself to figure out what the time is!

Full stop required at the end of the sentence.

No really surprised as we have a nation of thickos who can’t do simple arithmetic without a calculator, are unable to spell, use simple grammar and can’t even speak properly. Parents don’t teach them and the teaching in schools isn’t up to standard so it is to be expected.

had this issue as well. binned it.

I can read them but it takes me a while. On the other hand I'm dyslexic and can still spell analogue so I don't feel so bad.
