*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Im sonewhat worried about the failures, not enough to cancel my preorder but enough that i wont be using the hdmi cable thats coming with it

I wouldn't worry too much. If it breaks it's guaranteed if under a year old.

Also gamespot have put this nice little vid up which suggests that the failure rate is only about 0.4% but also, that it's far too early to tell properly. But if it's correct, that's acceptable (to me at least).

Here's the vid... Worried about PS4 failure rate?

Getting very real now :D

according to a lot of threads that hdmi problem was to do with the connection where the connector was not going fully in.

seen a few pictures where the connector looks like its only half way in , and these are some of the users that have had problems with the blue light of death , hopefully its only a small batch that have this hdmi problem and Sony sort it out.

I will wait to see what the hdmi cable looks like and decide on weather to use it.

Ironically, I will be using the HDMI cable that Microsoft gave me with my 360. :p I hope there is no special trickery to blow up my PS4. :D

I have a 360 hdmi or the standard one not sure why not to just try the standard one majority are fine.. Only 10days now EU folks, wish it would hurry.

Thanks for the tesco heads up :) Ordered the pack plus Fifa And Need For Speed, and got a nice £18 off from vouchers i didnt know where in my account lol.. £463.00 all in :D

I've seen on other forums that people have criticised Sony for blaming TVs, HDMI cables etc but they can and do cause issues. I used to set-up the display TVs and connect them to a central feed when I worked for Sainsbury's and I'd often have to swap out HDMI cables (for no apparent reason) because they'd stop working with a particular TV or just didn't work in the first place. Or there'd be one TV that'd just refuse to accept the incoming signal despite the rest working fine.

Just got my receipt from shopto...

One thing seems off, when I ordered it said delivery was £23 (I live in Northern Ireland) But at the same time it said free delivery in UK... Seen as the only option was the £23 one I opted for that figuring its because I'm in Northern Ireland...

On the Receipt it says FREE delivery ( DPD "Next Business Day" 9 am - 6 pm MAINLAND)

the mainland bits worrying me, should I ring them ?

http://www.shopto.net/help/deliveryshipping

Does say there that they'll charge for shipping hardware to certain locations in the UK.

Yea I know I was expecting to be charged for delivery, but they haven't and it looks like my ps4 might be sitting on the wrong van lol, i.e one that's not coming over here
