Honda marries vtec with forced induction - finally!

Bet it will have mega tuning potential, they need to put it in a car with a hope of some traction and then we'll be onto something.

280bhp type r, i'll bite. Althought I don't expect it to be anywhere near like a K20 turbo.
All we need now is some integra esq handling and we may have a winner.
Infact why don't I save honda a fortune and telll them we don't want it based on the current ugly duckling civic, give us the FD2 in the UK perhaps with an updated interior and this new engine. Will do just fine.

just looks like a middle of the road Ford/Renault/VW contender, the original ethos of the type-r has long since gone

They had no choice but to move with the times though really. They were already way behind the pack (in terms of speed) by sticking with the NA engine. That had a decent fanbase but wouldn't be EuroVI legal. No arguing though, it's a very different machine to the original.

I'm not against turbo and vtec like a lot of honda fanboys are. I wonder how similar it will be to a K20 turbo?

Glad things are improving on the power front. Just wish it will be applied to something other than FWD

Considering peugeot are screwing 260 horses from the 1.6 in the RCZ could wee see a 300> horse type R version I wonder?
