ASUS GTX 770 sags in the slot

Hey folks, figured I'd put this up because I've noticed that since I installed it about a month ago my ASUS GTX 770 has been sagging in the slot of my ASRock Z77 Pro3 mobo, and I'm wondering if it'll be an issue. Yes, I know there's normally a clip on the mobo to help fasten it in place but I kinda accidentally snapped it off whilst removing my old 560, and whilst there is another slot that's got a clip on it, it's lower down and it wouldn't be as good for airflow. Does the sagging really matter? I don't want to permanently warp the connections or anything but so far I've taken to using dental floss as a makeshift means of helping to hold it up.

This is how it looks ATM (And yeah, I've already been told about the dust and the cables, I'm working on it)

Is the sag gonna be an issue or am I alright to just not bother worrying about it.

If you put it in the lower slot cool air would blow on to it from that intake you have in the bottom right, i would just change slots (presuming the other slot is full speed).

I have seen some people put support rods in to stop gfx card sag or a backplate, looking at your pic it seems to have a full cover bckplate already.

edit: if you have it sort of supported i wouldn't worry about it, unless it goes banana shaped :P

Oh what a surprise another DC II sagging. :D

I have 2, they both sag. Used two techniques for sorting mine out. First, re-route your PCI-E power to the hole above where your 24 pin power pops out. This will allow the cables to route in above the card, pulling it up. Instead of from below, where it's pulling it down.

If that doesn't do it enough (and it didn't for me), I made a wedge to support both cards from underneath.

Et voila, no sagging. :D

Thanks for the advice. What about the wedge? Where could I get that from?

I used a deck of cards with a notch cut out for the second GPU, then stuck them all together with selotape.

The problem you'll have with that approach is that you don't have the HDD caddy to sit it on so you'll have to support from either the PSU or the bottom of the case.

In your position I'd do something different. Drop your HDD down a slot or two, and use the holes in the HDD caddy to slot something rigid through and prop up the GPU from there.

Metal dowel wrapped in insulation tape maybe?

The 670s have backplates, and they make no difference to the problem at all. It's down to the sheer amount of copper strapped to the card. They'll always droop at the power corner unless supported. :(

I think the bra was a better idea :D
As long as the bra doesnt get feminist ideas and burn itself.:D

Had a few gpu's where this has happened. I remember Lian Li used to use vertical support bars in some of their cases to help prop up heavy cards.
