*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Meh most of my mates are getting the PS4 as well and have asked me why im still sticking with the xbox one, its not because of the games i tell them..its because imho the xbox controllers are so much better than the PS controllers. Notice i have said PS and not PS4 controllers, the PS4 controller maybe better this time round but i like playing with the sticks rather than the d pad...thats where the PS controllers beat the xbox controllers hands down. The d pad on the PS controller are better i admit but as i said i play with sticks and the PS sticks are in a retarded positions..nothing natural about them.

If Sony did what M$ do with their sticks then id be getting the PS4, they havent so for me its a no go.

Sony..."said" a lot of things in the past that were never delivered on, Sony are very well known for that, but I hope they do.

Also blind loyalty is not blind, it would be blind if they hated what they got on the 360 and went and bought a One even though they hated Live or the 360's games or performance, something is wanting them to come back and buy more of the same.

No I said they NEVER mentioned those reasons (and if they did I could understand it).

Given both Playstation and X Box were roughly on par with each other in terms or performance and sales theres very little reason to judge these new devices on anything other than their own individual merits, especially as in this case the goal is to provide the best gaming experience.
 
I've always been loyal to Sony consoles going back to the PS1, and before that it was Sega over Nintendo though we ended up with a SNES and N64 somehow. Weird I suppose! Did give in and got the mrs a 360 last Feb with Kinect and we've switched it on once. She got really frustrated trying to configure a profile for some fitness DVD/game and that was the end of it. It's still there by the TV looking abandoned.
PS3 always got more use as a blu ray player.
 
Tried getting a friend to get PS4 but he is an Xbox fanboy, his excuse was he does'nt like the PS controller which i could understand at the time. Fact is the new PS controller is getting fantastic reviews and he is now paying 100 quid more for an inferior product. I cant wait to rub it in now. :D

ssshhh that's a touchie subject round here :D. Mind you I still end up getting that inferior product later on :o
 
Ordered mine back in June from Amazon, got a PS4, Killzone and NFS coming. Had Knack pre-ordered too but cancelled it today after ready a few reviews. Anyone getting it?

It's called the Xbox One, not the Xbox 1. You're the one getting confused, it would seem, because it's quite obvious to most people that the 'One' doesn't have any numerical significance in terms of where it features in the Xbox line-up.
 
After spending a few hrs playing on the DS4, i can definitely say its very nice to play on.

Not sure how I'm going to play on a DS3 again truth be told...

I did much prefer the 360's over the DS3 and especially the sixaxis.. But i do prefer the the DS4 over the 360's... Can't comment on the xbox one, but its not going to be bad that's for sure. (see i give good comments, where its deserved)
 
Some of the people in this thread make me a little ashamed to be in the same "gamer" category as them. It's quite sad really.

Anyway, back on topic - Amazon still don't have a delivery date for my Killzone bundle yet. This makes me a sad Davey.

Yep I agree most... BUT the point i was trying to make is not all. 7 yr old's and mom's who are not clued up, being in that category.

Anyway I'll agree to disagree, to me it doesn't matter. I couldn't give a damn about the name... But its not a decision i would have personally made.

Anyway moving on, can we get back to talking about the PS4, instead of the xbone ?

What about buying a 3rd party controller with offset sticks ? buying a console purely for its controller is crazy
 
Isn't the clue to how MS named the xbox in their slogan

"the all in one xbox one" erm seems to make sense to me and MS market the xbox one as an all in one games, media and motion games system.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the PS4 thread?

Still going on reviews, the xbox one seems to me not quite there yet so early adopters are going to have to wait to see what they really can do with an xbox one. Sony seem to have gotten their console to a much more complete stage regarding gaming, but their motion lacks (not that most core gamers care less) and their media streaming isn't there yet..

Erm, that's because it doesn't DO ANYTHING except gaming... They didn't bother to include media functionality / any new features.

I should hope they can get their games console to a complete stage where it can play games!!
