Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Well, was going to just do BF4 on console, but can't afford a PS4 just now, so picked this up on PC last night.

While it was downloading, fired up BF3 a bit, and ended up playing maps I didn't know existed - LOL!

Then for the hell of it, decided to play using controller, and it was enjoyable. Actually, I think I K/D ratio was improved over using mouse and keyboard :) So may stick to doing that on BF4.

Update #15 (Nov 21)
PC Server Update R11 Rolling Out
We are roling out a new server update on PC with some minor tweaks and a crash fix. Full change list below. We are also aiming to have a new PC game update live next week. Stay tuned for more on that.

R11 PC SERVER UPDATE CHANGE LIST
-Fixed a common server crash
-Fixed an exploit where a player could get unlimited ammo on mortars by redeploying them
-Fixed an issue where your score displayed in the scoreboard was cut in half during double xp events
-Removed the possibility for server admins to kick players on official servers by using PunkBuster
-Game mode counter can now be set up to 400% for Ranked servers and 500% for Unranked servers. In addition, idle time out can now be set up to 86 400 (24 hours) for both server types

Well if you come up against a "proper player" who uses a gaming mouse and keyboard then trust me, you'll be toast. One shot kills to the head if your not quick and game controller has much greater controll latency and it harder to place accurately on the target.

HEATHEN!!!!!
BURN HIM!

:p:D

Yes, yes, I know :p

Its just with sitting and using a keyboard and mouse all day at the office, it's nice to kick back a bit with a controller - feels less like work :)

I will swap between the two, but probably will use M+K more often than not.

I'm just glad it's a viable option :)

Was flying out last night and there was this AA where I got 0 warning from in-coming missiles. Is this active radar? I use ECM Jammer..
Yeah it is. ECM blocks lock ons from the usual manpads and vehicular launchers but active are just another beast, you don't even aim them - you just fire them in the general direction of the aircraft. They generally won't get a critical blow unless you do damage first but if you fire one missile, fire a volley of 20mm then fire the other missile you will have about a 50:50 chance of a critical on the second and then it's murder town.

For the AC130 it's even easier, a full 20mm belt will kill it off, no missle required. Dies within 10 seconds.

I had to give up in the end. I think the balance was fine between AA and Jet's in BF3. In my experience a good AA gunner could give me a hard time in BF3 where you would generally have to catch him off guard and play more defensively. However these maps are so small that it seemed everywhere I went this AA was blocking me from doing anything.

In any case Jets for me a huge let down in BF4. They have dumbed them down but also made them very powerful in maps like paracel.

I was dogfighting with another pilot the other day and I just got bored tbh, bailed out and started taking some points. Effectively they have lowered the overall skill ceiling to keep the battlelog moaners happy.

There are missiles that one can fire from AA ( cant think of the name ) that are not guided as such , if they get close to a jet or heli they will hit...kind of like a proximity fuse i suppose , I use them a lot :D

Thankfully lol

Oh and what is the deal with scout helicopters? With the RCB or even an A10 Warthog, I can't kill them with the cannon, even 5 strafe runs later on HC they are still alive, so unrealistic it is silly?
