Walking Dead - I feel like crying

There is a specific forum for Television, Film, Books and Music & a thread on it (for both UK and US) :).

The Walking Dead makes me sad, it's awful.

Yeah sorry, I just saw a thread Season 4 though. I don't want to click on that cuz might contain spoilers.

MOD feel free to move the thread.

I think that's being generous. I thought parts of season one were good :p, it has gone down hill rapidly since.

The two episodes involving the laboratory were ****, the rest of season 1 was fab in my opinion. The other two seasons between them have a handful of episodes worth watching and so far season 4 has been utter tripe.

That's my take on it anyway. :)

Oh goody.

One of the most boring, inconsistent and poorly written shows to ever grace television, yet millions of people still lap it up like it's BB and GOT.

When its good (which isn't often - probably a third of each season) its pretty good though - episode 1 season 1 was up there with the best episodes I've ever watched of a TV show, theres huge holes in my watching it as large sections of season 2 and 3 bored the **** out of me but other bits had me fascinated and I won't lie I look forward to watching season 4 though not sure how much of it I will watch.

I thought the first episode was really good, the scene in the stair well was a particular highlight. I felt that was the very peak of the show actually :p.

Season One was ok, good in parts, totally agree about the laboratory towards the end being absolutely nonsense.

The second season was the season on the farm? That was really just terrible. The show hasn't improved much since then.

Yup season 2 was the farm. You can't even say Season 2 is a slow burner because it isn't, it has no pace whatsoever. There are random spasms of action, excitement, tension, followed by 3 or 4 episodes where bugger all happens. Things don't even build and build until finally something reaches breaking point, they just happen randomly after a handful of truly poor episodes.

Take the farm invasion at the end for instance, are we supposed to believe that the walkers heard the helicopter and decided to descend upon the farm? Despite the fact that half the time Daryl is riding around on that ridiculous chopper and characters are busy having target practice on the farm...

I'm mainly annoyed at the fact this could have been a genuinely fantastic show but they've absolutely ruined it with poor writing, poor directing, absolutely no consistency or cohesion whatsoever, and most criminal of all there is no tension and no fear.

Whenever a main character is in danger unless it's at the end of a series you know with almost 100% certainty that they are going to miraculously be fine, usually because some minor character who was introduced one episode beforehand who we're supposed to care about will usually take the flack instead. It's predictable and dull. :(

Gave up after the first season, epic start, terribad end.

Plenty of other shows to try out, so in the bin with you!

What walking dead really needs is another token black guy death. We have two at the moment and this town aint big enough for the both of 'em.

RIP T-Dog.
