need help modding skyrim on steam

hey guys,

ive recently got my self a 7990 so i want to really mod skyrim to push my GPU more and tbh... it looks dull and boring.

so what mods do i get? theirs so many im lost, i dont know if they all work together or what, any help would be great.

He covers the basics and later the more advanced stuff in his video series of modding Skyrim. The dude has a great 'tutorial' voice. Even though I dont play Skyrim anymore I still watch his modding videos to this day.

His channel offers various playlists with modding that focuses on just the graphics (ENB) and the usual Lets Play, but that modding series I linked is the best start.

My advice would be don't mod with steam, just use Nexus Mod Manager and The Skyrim Nexus.

Whatever you do, don't change the uGrids settings, and once a mod is on that changes things, don't take it off and save.

Other than that, have fun :)

Agree with this I'm still playing skyrim (approaching 3000hrs I know sad) but also playing battlefield 4. stick to nexus that's where the best mods are
 
is there like a mod pack that i can download thats has abit of everything in it? i have not got a clue what i need to download, theres so many :/
 
i like to get big heavy armour and a huge double handed weapon and go rambo style lol

its the graphics and those horrible dull colours i want to improve

Download that and put it in your Skyrim folder. Choose the wrapper version. Then...

Download that, and copy it into your skyrim folder, overwriting everything when it prompts.

If your a barbarian, I would go with improved combat sounds mod, use NMM to install.

P.S forgot to mention, in the skyrim launcher, disable AA and AO when you've got your ENB mod on.

ENB is itself a plethora of gorgeous visual effects and doesn't need them.
 
thanks mate ill give it a shot, ive also downloaded a lot of mods from youtube links, im new to modding so just trying to learn how and where to put files etc
 
If you download NMM, you don't need to worry about file location, it does it all for you and is the safest way of not borking up your save game (which is very, very easy to do, trust me)

You will reach a point in Skyrim where you become an invincible all powerful demigod, even on Legendary difficulty. Nobody can touch you, and you can obliterate pretty much anything that walks in your path.

Thats when it gets boring.
 
ok so i downloaded the first to links you posted and dragged and dropped them into my skyrim file, the folders have zips on, do i need to download winrar and extract them?

yeh i have NMM and have downloaded as much as i can with it

demon8991 has kindly put together some hi rez textures together, which i use and saves a lot of time, kudos to him. Quote from his post.

I have a combined file of 60 mods hosted that you can use would be the easiest way to get it running amazing. Feel free to check my screenshots too.

Start off with this.

The file is split into 7 rar files and will need to be extracted and then put back into a single rar file and then added to nexus mod manager.
