Official 2013 Amazon Black Friday deal thread - NO COMPETITOR PRODUCTS TO BE DISCUSSED

Check iPlayer, Panorama tonight was about behind the scenes at Amazon and how the warehouse staff are unfairly treated apparently. Haven't seen it myself yet.

www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer/episode/b03k5kzp/Panorama_Amazon_The_Truth_Behind_the_Click

I work in the Dunfermline one. It's the largest and busiest in Europe. I'm doing about 15 miles a day. It's a nightmare TBH. But luckily my feet are hard as nails so no problem there - they just get sore a bit.

I got repetitive stress injury from packing at the job (seen the doctor) and Amazon described me as '"problem" and told me it would be 4 days to see occupational health (which never happened).

Any mention of unions in there and staff are out the door.

Now I'm doing a compulsory 55 hour week next week and the weeks up until Christmas, that leaves me 5 hours in my Edinburgh flat (doing night shift BTW). Transline don't give a ****.

Got up at 08:42 to check out the shavers, they reached capacity within seconds and I missed out. D'oh! :p

EDIT: Joined the watch list, five minutes later there were more added to the promotion:

It's only compulsory if you opted out of the 48 hour week, something which you can opt in or out at any time, but it may take 3 months to come into effect.

overslept this morning but just in time for the logitech remote...it is currently at its lowest for rrp too according to camelcamelcamel.

Anything under £50 could be a total bargain, even £60 would be great.

How much better is it over a 525 Raymond? Tempted by it, but main thing to control would be PS4 so thats an unknown still what support it will give/get...

I dunno, i know it is a new product (6 months) and it was £100+ in june and it has been £90 for the past 3 months.

It is £65 and in my basket, i have no universal remote so i'm going to go for it.

You said you weren't playing this year :p

Randomly I was on Amazon this morning and looking for a universal remote so gone for the logitech. Quick skim of reviews seems positive so will see how it pans out.

Well, I thought I'd get something before I head out for the day lol

Success!

I was actually originally oh ah about the higher end screen model but that price put me off, now the difference is even bigger making it a no brainer. Both can use apps to control so in a way, it has a screen anyway.

Amazon really need to take a look at their supposed "discounts". That Morphy kettle is supposed to be 50% off, but the RRP is £30 and the normal price is £24.99 yet the lightning deal is £19.99.

So 50% off what exactly? Some random price plucked from the air?

I'm sure it was down at £19.99 before the BF discount too.

I thought the RRP was £39.99. MR and Argos have it £49.99.

The Friends Bluray could be a bargain later, it is currently at its lowest at £78 (I paid £90 on release). I think at £50 or less would make a great christmas gift. It is widescreen and much sharper than it was when it was on TV all those years ago, I always thought they shot it in 4:3 in VHS but it seem not !

They have the red one going for £22.97 so that black offer isn't that special.

Not everything on the BF sale would be "special", we all know that, hence you need to have your head screwed on and not get too excited by all the labels. Install camel camel camel plugin for a quick check and will give you a pretty good idea how much of a bargain you are getting.
