OCZ have filed for bankrupcy.

Shame but not unexpected.

I miss the days they made truly innovative parts but sadly I suspect they aren't always profitable.

well that depends, as tosihiba are buying some of the assets, i wonder if this includes their liabilities?

I wonder if tosh will just focus on SSD or continue with PSU?

A good buy for Toshiba if they play their cards right - their image (Toshiba) has always been a little recessed in the enthusiast segment.

Not really surprised, plus OCZ have really done anything much standout from the crowd for years so won't really be missed.

Last thing they did that I can think of was the OCZ Blade ULV Dimms IIRC the ddr2 PC9200 are actually ddr3 modules (but modified to run on ddr2 platforms) and run stupidly fast for ddr2.

Lucky I got my rma back for an ssd last month, wonder what will happen with warranties as others have said.
I also have an ocz psu to hate to be left high and dry if Toshiba don't honour them.

I will miss OCZ, i quite liked their aesthetics on SSDs and cooling bits and bobs. Currently own an OCZ PSU and SSD, not too worried about the RMA as they are both solid components but it is unfortunate that another player is out of the game.

Hopefully Toshiba will not only pick up some of the pieces but try to put something different out for the enthusiast market. Even if it isn't a game changer, its always nice to see something new.
