*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

Are they going to enable 2 eventually? I remember them contemplating this.

Guess you could get 2nd hand ones but it won't work currently.

I understand the system is capable of sending audio and visual to two gamepads - just a question of whether Nintendo want to put the effort in to rolling it out.

Just arrived :p

Two controllers would be nice, but I suppose it depends on price, resource use and compatibility.

I seem to remember replacements were very expensive, so I would imagine second controllers at retail would be too.
I assume the Wii U processes at least some of what is sent to the controller, although I did think the controllers had their own limited processor, so the extra resource drain could be an issue.
None of the current games would be compatible and development on new games to support would depend on user base.
Would then become a chicken and egg scenario unless it's extremely easy to develop for two controllers and doesn't impact the performance too much.

I see, perhaps they're waiting for a game to fully utilise two at once.

Knowing Nintendo they'll be looking for a game that acts as a 'proof of concept'.

The mistake they won't want to make is to have only one game which supports it, motion plus was hardly supported so that's something to consider.

I said this pages ago; the WiiU is the best complimentary console for PC gamers. You really cannot get anything like the first party Nintendo titles on a PC so it just makes sense.

I agree yeah. For the most part of last Gen i just had a PC & Wii for games. I only picked up an Xbox 360 18 Months ago - caught up on a few great games but still only have like 8 xbox 360 games in total.

No idea when I'll pick up an XBOne/PS4, but it wont be until there are several exclusive games that I really want to play on the platform, right now nothing interests me enough.

Finally joining the Wii U club.I got the WW special and a copy of party U.. as i have no motion + :)I also got skyward sword, i'll pick up more titles after i finish the two Zeldas.

Welcome to the club! It's a fantastic machine, once you get used to using remote play on the gamepad when the missus wants to watch the t.v you will never want to go back to anything else. lol

I also go the Lego City / Rayman bundle.

I really appreciate the headphone jack on the controller! Using it with a monitor without any speakers at the moment.

I picked up a Wii U a few months ago, love it so far, was partly inspired to do so by lurking in this thread.

Just had a quick question, anyone have Splinter Cell Blacklist on it? Mine freezes at title screen, replaced it at GAME and the replacement copy does the same thing. Seems a bit odd. Don't want to be that nutter that keeps going down there to replace it if the disc isn't at fault. In the mean time I got Arkham Origins for £20 in GAME as well this weekend to keep me busy.
