*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Finally got to have a crack at the PS4 yesterday.

Resogun: Epic, beautiful and addictive. I'm not partcularly good but having great fun with it.

COD Ghosts: Had about a 10 minute blast on the MP and can see myself getting owned until I learn the maps - was massively into cod for a long time, but haven't played in about 6 months. The MP didn't look that next gen tbh.

FIFA 14: This looked great and played a lot smoother than fifa 12, the last football game I played. I definitely need to get better at this, might help now I'm on the "alternate" controls.

Contrast: Interesting concept, played it for about 20 minutes and seemed to have finished a quarter of the game, not bad for a freebie. Easy couple of trophies for the trophy whores out there!

Killzone: Managed about half an hour on this before I went to bed. Absolutely stunning visuals, looking forward to putting some more time in over the weekend.

Pleased with the purchase, now got to work out what to do with the 360 that will now just gather dust somewhere!

Also, need some friends on PSN - will be playing above games in MP - add: DRYD3N--
 
Friend of mine preordered in September/October ish and he's had an email from Amazon saying his is coming this weekend.

You might be in luck Davey :).
 
Mate of mine has just sold his XB1 and trying to obtain a PS4. Good luck to him.

The amount of raging he had with the XB1 UI, think the simpleness of the PS4 will appeal to him.

Could hear him punching his desk over the phone because Kinect kept doing things of it's own accord and the menus are overly complicated. lol

Goes to show, sometimes less is actually more.

Can anyone remember any comments being made about YouTube share support?

the ps4 came out just a week ago, one month before xmas. not one year.

its not as if the guy has to wrap it up and wait a year before using it for xmas. its just a month.

if u wanted it for xmas you should have pre ordered it sooner. Better to get it a month before xmas then a couple of months after xmas

It's just badly optimised on Pc so could be patched or fixed but this is UBI so I doubt it will be.

Runs smooth for me, takes like a 15-20 fps hit in major towns but other than that I get 60fps on a 670

But yes, Resogun is a good game to platinum. Had me pulling my hair out last night just trying to do the last level on Experienced. God knows how I'll manage Veteran :(

Yeah I was getting annoyed with it on veteran, very very tough level. Most of the trophies are easy, got most of them first try, even the 1CC one, though there was a tense moment on the last boss when I only had 1 life left and narrowly dodged some bullets which were too close for comfort. Use phobos as your ship, pretty much the best one since it melts any enemies.
 
shinny plastic bit scratches easily, however rest of my ps4 is awesome. killzone is wicked, and remote play works over WiFi in my house without lag , haven't tried it out and about.

Voice commands even work, PlayStation killzone start game started lol surprised it worked with so little effort.. or was it PlayStation start killzone, or something like that, its got onscreen display it was easy .

Do playstation voice commands only work with the camera?

Also can you get a headset that plugs into the controller, that does sound and mic?

I thought that, but have seen what he is moaning about.

The fact the Kinect is always on the listen, it does seem to react to conversations going on in the room and do things of it's own accord.

"Xbox Stop Listening" seems to be the most said thing for some.

I would be tempted to just unplug the blasted thing and worry about learning the horrible menus.

Don't think either system was ready for launch but at least Sony opted for simple and to that add things on, which makes more sense.
