*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Anyone know if there are any headphones with pause controls that work with the N5 ... tried the phones that I used on my Xperia Play (where pause button worked) in my new N5 but they didn't work properly (sound only worked when the "pause" button was pressed)

Are you talking cabled or bluetooth?

I've got a pair of rubbish BT headphones (7dayshop, bought on the rainforest for a score) where all the controls work perfectly, even the volume...

Sony Ericsson used a different type of 3.5mm jack for voice/controls, they won't work with most OEM phones. Its nothing to do with software.

Edit:
deshepherd you'll need a OMTP to CTIA 3.5mm adaptor to use your xperia play headphones with the N5. Everyone has moved to CTIA now btw.

In 4.4.1 can anyone check to see if the sound quality from the headphones is better please.
I used mine for the first time a few days a go and the volume was quiet and the quality was poor even after tweaking with poweramp settings.
Thank you.

Just checked the speaker volume after the update... Much better! It was very quiet before, far louder now.

Si Lad, headphones are much louder now. Before I had to have it at quite a high volume to be a decent level to listen to, whereas now that same level would be too loud.

Seems like this update has actually fixed every issue I've seen mentioned with the phone!

Just updated to 4.4.1, really liking it, the camera is heaps better, sound is better, vibration is better, all around a great update. Camera app is now linked to the Photos app instead of the gallery app which is great, don't need to use the gallery app anymore.

Camera overall focus much faster, captures photos instantly now instead of that 1 second delay, and picture offer better contrast, colours and are much sharper in generally. Also switch between different lighting condition still gives quick focus times, before this took a long time for the camera to refocus.

This update really did fix every little issue with the phone. Fantastic update, it's a shame the release build wasn't this one as I guess the phone would have scored much higher in reviews?

Very happy. :)

Many thanks, just waiting for OTA now :)

I hope all of the existing reviews are updated :)

4.4.1 defo feels more snappier and more faster for me and that's with mods and stuff.

Have they sacrificed image quality over speed when it comes to the camera...?

If the play store says leaves by the 11th, is it realistically going to leave by or before then? Tempted to get one delivered to work but it may turn up after we stop for Christmas!
