*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Realistically, no. It is a separate gaming device with PS4 functionality tacked on. Only "worth" it if money isn't a concern.

While I wouldnt say its essential its still a very nice bit of kit.
Especialy now before they release the Vita-Lite with the non OLED screen.

Pretty impressed with the remote play though.
Played a bit of resogun earlier and it was totaly flawless, no lag, nothing :)

Got my ps4 all setup and updated didn't take long. Took a little while on how to turn the ps4 on for the first time with no power button at the back:p
Killzone looks pretty nice, aint got far but theres been some very nice views and some pretty damn impressive lighting effects.
Gonna play it all day tomorrow and also try resgun aswell.

Just another random gripe having come from the 360 I hate how slow and long winded it is to send party invites and I also miss the invite party feature to game hope they optimise it more in the next update.

Going to get a second game between fifa..knack and NBA 2k14....
I love football but not a huge fan of football games...knack looks like a fun platformer but also looks like it might get boring after a while. How good do the NBA2k14 graphics look on your own tv? Would you say its the most graphically impressive game on the PS4 at the moment or would you still give that to Killzone?
I don't mind basketball but if its not as good as it looks then i don't know.

For anyone who has a PS4 and XB1, are you finding it worth having both?

Reason for asking is my PS4 is due to arrive early next week (already have XB1) and in NZ they are still pretty hard to find so are selling for 30-50% above RRP on TradeMe (equivalent of eBay over here). It's very tempting to just sell it and buy a PS4 early next year once they're readily available. Wasn't planning to do this but right now I'm only really playing Mario World 3D on the Wii U anyway!

Remote play is essential if you have a family who like to fight over the telly.

Plugging your headphones into the controller is another godsend when you need the house to be quiet as well.

I can't wait to get my ps4 set up and when the misses wants to watch soaps I can use my vita for remote play (which was the main reason I bought the vita) but like someone else said it has some great games for it as well, I loved uncharted on it and street fighter v tekken and wipeout are great games to have a quick pick up and play

Being able to just plug a headset into the controler is genius.
Given me a reason to bring my Siberias out of retirment :D

I couldn't get that to work - plugged my headphones in but no sound and the controller speaker was still active. Only tried on Resogun and needed to stop the "save the last humans" blurting out at top volume at 1:30 am. Do you have to configure it or something? In the end I turned the controller volume down (in game) and hooked my headphones up to my mixamp.
