*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Well ive played killzone for a bit now im at a guess halfway or nearing the end of chapter 2. Nice fps nothing really special about it. But it does look very nice some of the lighting looks very nice. The detail on the enemies look great. Some of the human faces look very nice but they still have a bit blocky head but that's me being picky.
Tried resogun that's pretty good fun with lots of going on the screen looking pretty damn hectic:p
I think the ps4 is a nice bit of kit but I feel I may have bought it a bit early the only games that's been announced that I really want aren't even out yet for a good while:
The Division
Watchdog
Final Fantasy 15 (not the online one)
and a couple others I forget the name of.

I've always had an Xbox but for next gen I want a change. The PS4 is a good option for myself as it's cheaper aswell.

However, I'm hearing about lots of technical issues/glitches with the PS4 where people are having to send them back to get them replaced. Has this been the case for a lot of people on here?

It's just when I spent so much money on something I would want it to work properly...
 
Luck of the draw im afraid just like any other electrical device.
Ive probably only put in less than 2 hours so far. But my ps4 runs very smooth and its very quiet, near silent when not in games. But when in games its still very quiet, a lot quieter than my ps3.
Just buy it, if you want one don't let something that might happen put you off.

It's a tiny chance you'll get a dodgy console, but you'd face the same odds with the XO or to be honest any electronical goods. The XO has their own problems with defective drives too. Don't let the failures worry you, just pick which you prefer and be about 99.5% confident yours will work fine whichever you choose to buy.

On top of that both companies seem to be support dead consoles pretty well; MS will send you an advanced replacement in a few days, while Sony appear to do the swap on the doorstep in a similar time...

Now I just to find stock of one somewhere... Can't find anything locally and don't really know where to look online.

I would like to buy from Amazon as there customer service is without fault and it's very easy to return goods should you have any issues.

Does anyone know when Amazon will have stock?

The online pass is now free as Ubisoft have ditched them. On the AC4 main menu you go into the DLC section and you will see "Uplay Passport - Free" just download and install. Its not available on the PSN store from what I saw, have to get it through the game.

It seems that they're getting small deliveries, so they update it at anytime. You just need to be quick.

And also register with stockinformer, they will send you a text when they have in stock.


Also, check with your local HMV, mine had some yesterday but didn't buy one as I am waiting for my amazon order.
 
This faulty console stuff is worrying, ive got one somewhere in my house but my g/f won't let me have it until Christmas, last thing i want it to wake up and it be faulty. Does the console take long to initially set up? Do you need to download any long updates or anything? might ask my g/f to open it up and check it works she won't let me do it myself though.

Theres an update but it takes minutes.

Took me less then 5 mins to set up.
 
Can you still use the prepaid cards for the ps4? Looking to buy bf4 premium using the cards on cdkeys to make it £4 cheaper.

I dont get this, Id rather check it now to avoid disappointment at Christmas and to be covered by things like DSR, its not like you are spoiling the surprise as you know what you are getting anyway. Also less likely to be affected by PSN getting hammered over Christmas as youll get the update done now...

Your obsessed with faults. Haven't you went through tons of phones because if someone posted a bug online you would return the device even if it was never going to affect your usage.

How do you buy a car? Because it doesn't matter how good anything is someone somewhere will have had a problem with it.

There's issues with a lot of games at the moment so I would suggest that you don't bother buying so that you stay away from this section of the forums with your constant complaints.

Glitches and bugs with nfs and bf4 for one.
