Tomb Raider coming to Xbox one and ps4

Would like it but I'm forking out full price for it again it should be priced allot cheaper IMO as it's just a visual upgrade they haven't added any extra sp stuff etc if they did I'd consider it

Chuffed about this, heard the rumour a while back so held off playing my 360 copy. So I can enjoy this for the first time on next gen.

Now, do I get it on Xbox One or PS4? Always chose 360 against my PS3 for multi platform titles, but I think PS4 might get priority this gen for me.

This was the 1st games in a long time that i thoroughly enjoyed, Right from the start it looked stunning with a great story line felt very excited, The story line kind of fell off towards the end but never the less a cracking game. If the ps4 version got some nicer visuals id be tempted to play though it again.

Its a great game for anyone who owns a new console and hasn't played it.

But it does sound like they ported the console version to PC, turned the graphics up to 11, and are now just poring back to the new Gen of console now that they can handle the extra visuals? Or is there more to the game?

I really enjoyed it but for me it wasn't as good as Underworld or Legends. A brilliant game but the MP is utter ****. Not worth getting it again or playing through again really.

Far better to spend a fiver and play it on the 360. Combat wasn't as good as TRL and neither was the climbing/traversing stuff.

Read my earlier post. Games aren't really ported, so this scenario isn't what happened.

Loved it on the 360 but I'm not paying for it again for better graphic!

I mean if there is a discount where if you out in your 360 disc to identify and get the new one for £10 then may be.

'Porting' is used in this context as an overall concept rather than a specific reference to the technology used.

The 360/PS3 and PC versions were the same. The PC version was given extra graphics, and now that PC content is being released on the XB1/PS4. Theres no real ground up redevelopment or variation in content. Its a lift and shift between platforms.

I look forward to this. I was not lucky enough to play the previous generation versions so a nice surprise.

I never got around to playing it before so I'll probably pick this up at some point. Will wait for it to be cheaper though, doubt I'll get it straight away.

I've got the collectors edition of this on the 360. Loved it.

Not sure whether I'll pick this up again though... really depends on how nice it looks.

Just realised I've reached a point in my life where I'm literally debating buying a game for its graphics alone... brilliant :(

I think I'd really rather have seen this done in a year or so when devs are perhaps more comfortable with the hardware. As it is, I'm just not convinced it's going to be all that impressive.

Played it on the 360 and it was the best game I'd played in years. This may be the game that makes me pick up a next gen console, chance to play it through again and it looks even more stunning

I understand how it's used, and I object to that as people then get it in their heads that games are in face ported when they're not.

I don't understand how or why you'd expect ground up redevelopment though, it's the same game, it's unnecessary. Game engines are scalable enough to cope running the same game on largely different hardware.

Better or worse visuals should be the only thing that differentiates multi platform releases of the same game on different platforms.

That aside, it's not actually lift and shift, they will be console specific builds that have been specifically compiled for the PS4 and Xbox 1. People should get out of the habit of branding things as ports because it encourages people who don't know what they're talking about to jump on the "herp derp port" band wagon and blame any issues with a PC release of a multi platform game on "CONSOLE PORT" which then turns into ignorant hatred of consoles, where they'll blame everything they can on consoles.
