Bloke uses our road as a Car Park

We are fortunate enough to have a train station at the back of our house that has trains to Manchester every 30 minutes. This has never been a problem up until now - and the problem itself isn't actually anything to do with the station.

There is one bloke (or woman - I don't know) who parks their car on our road on Monday and doesn't return until late on Thursday. As you can see from the photo, whilst it isn't on our side of the road because we have a drive way, it is blocking where the neighbours would usually park their cars.

I totally appreciate it's entirely legal, but it's extremely annoying for the people who live across the way. It annoys me too and it's not even parked in front of my house!

I've tried leaving a polite note on the windscreen saying that given the road is narrow and residents have an agreement to park in front of their own houses, could he kindly park elsewhere. It worked for a few weeks then he started re-appearing.

Has anybody else had any similar issues?

Report it as an abandoned car, or contact your local rugby team and ask them if they wouldn't mind popping round and pushing it down the road every week that'll confuse them!

<insert obligatory comment about BMW drivers here>

Looks like there's no driveway either side of where he's parked, so just get you and a neighbour to park an inch in front and behind him...

Is it bad that when walking home late one night last week I was tempted to key it as I walked past?

Yes.

They are doing absolutely nothing wrong. It's not "your" road. You have no right to determine how it is used by motorists and taking action against him for doing nothing more than annoying you makes you pond scum of the worst kind.

Vandalism is very hard to pin unless you are caught in the act or have cctv of your face doing it. It would make him think twice about parking there in future.

Not that I have experience or condone that sort of behaviour of course, you honour.

And as you live in Manchester it's quite normal practise I believe..anything north of the watford gap et all.

As mentioned, it isn't "your" road. It's a public highway, and is open for use by all road users. You want somewhere particular at your property where you're guaranteed to be able to park your car?

Then get a house with a driveway.

Maybe I'll hold off with the keying until other options have been exhausted. May hire a HGV and follow him home one day then park it in front of his house for three days.

Brake fluid on the roof of the car.
Dog turd under the door handles
Slash the tires
Key the doors.

He won't come back.
