***The Official Battlefield 4 Thread***

The only way I could get into a game now was to log into Battlekack, and click on a server from it, which led to a game that was buggy as heel, my character kept like jumping/ croucing on his own, then I fell through the map.

countless counter measures on the little bird and none of them stopped on incoking missile.

Try evasive flying lol

Done all that, very good with little Birds manoeuvring, but when the looking in their Sci-Fi make belief lock on speeds for an over the shoulder launcher, and its superhuman reload time, it makes it kind if impossible.

Might trade this in for Ghosts until/if they fix playing in a squad. Not being able to get into a squad before getting into a game is just ridiculous and playing BF is no fun with randoms. Server browser is also broken - could find games of TDM but for Conquest it just says there are no games.

Getting this tomorrow hopefully so added a few guys on psn from here.

I wish I could download the updates now so they were ready for when the game is inserted/installed.

Is premium worth buying yet or should I wait or buy dlc individually?

Can some of you guys add me please, my psn id is Doctor786. I have no previous experience with battlefield games however I am a quick learner :)

I shot the pilot of a little bird with my .44 magnum on silk road the other day . I felt like a boss, I wish we could upload footage to more than just fb.

When I play back the videos on bf4 on the ps4 it doesn't have sound, is that normal?

So tried playing with a mate last night for the first time and can see what the fuss is about. Considering this is pinned very much as a team orientated game, they sure have made it hard to set up. When I did eventually get in a game with my friend we were on opposite teams.

Have DICE commented on any changes they are making for this?

I believe the clown and the potato are still working out just how far their heads are up each others ass.

Did you hear me shouting you? "Woooooorthhhhhy"

I think I have somehow enabled the mic on the camera to pick up sound, and I'm not quite sure how to disable it again.

Hah, no! Didn't have my headset plugged in. That was the first time I've played TDM, I normally go recon and try to snipe and spot / mark up but it's impossible on those smaller maps.

Going to order a proper headset I think.

I suppose it's fair that they are working on crashing issues ahead of functional issues. I'm happy leveling up my game in the hope that it's better down the line.

I dont know if they are, its been out a while and still nothing.
If anything its been getting worse for me.

Does anyone have a problem joining multiplayer on the xbox one??

I can't join any game game since yesterday I keep getting a error " you have lost the connection to the session".

We had loads of issues last night. I tried for about 20 minutes to get into a game and gave up and replayed single player (after the first time I played it didn't register on my achievements or on the scoreboards)

So after playing it a second time on Hard I have this to say about the single player:

** Warning Rant Mode Engaged **

The idea that this time round the single player is not on rails is complete bobbins. I repeatedly ran into doors which were open, but once you passed through them became locked. Equally i came to do doors too early, that wouldn't open until one of your NPC squad mates pushed them open for you.

The whole idea of having a squad and having the ability to spot for them and get them to attack is a lie. The enemy NPCs have their AI programmed to only interact with you. Doesn't matter how much your NPC squad mates shoot at them, they aren't interested. As soon as you stick your head out however, they'll start shooting at you.

The daft part is, that enemy NPCs will even run past your squadmate NPCs to get at you, because they are that focused on you. And because your NPC squad mates are programmed not to do all the work for you, i was routinely shot in the back when I thought my squad mates had my back. This is also a lie, they don't have your back and will quite happily let people walk by them to come and shoot you.

Then there were enemies that "spawned" out of thin air to facilitate cut scenes. Walking down the corridor, nobody, nobody, and all of a sudden, BOOM they would appear out of thin air.

Lets just say you get fed up of Kovic, and decide to pop a cap in his ***. But you can't do that either since your can't shoot at your team mates, because thats not part of the scripts. Its also not part of the script for your team to die which is why none of the NPC enemies will actually shoot at them.

You get a choice at the end of the last mission, but thats about the only choice you get all game. Apart from twice you had the choice to get in a vehicle or not.

Take the last mission when you're supposed to jump out the plane. If you don't jump out the plane the plane just carries on with you in it, and the jump master just stares at you as you fly further and further away from the ship. Jump out 20 minutes later and it teleports you into the same scene as if you jumped off together. Its as if you never flew about 100 miles in the wrong direction at all !

I witnessed just how shallow the other NPCs are, with a character that appears to write, but upon looking at her clipboard, she's not actually writing anything at all. And I witnessed another scene where you interact with some marines, and then have to progress outside. If you decide not to go outside, the marine goes into a loop whereby he walks up to one guy, gives a winding gesture to indicate for him to speed up, then walks up to another guy sat at a desk using a laptop. He proceeeds to look over his shoulder then walk to the other guy. He will loop like this all day until you finally do as your told and move nextdoor and trigger the next cut scene and go outside.

I've walked into invisible walls when the NPC characters stop and talk. You have to stop and talk too, so they place an invisible wall to prevent you from going too far.

Whats also laughable is the lack of interaction your chracter has with the set pieces. I met some woman major and proceeded to jump around on the desks skipping from desk to desk while she was talking. I proceeded to tea bag her, but this made not one jot of difference to the cut scene.

And as if even more ammunition was needed, if a chopper appears you have to shoot it down with the RPG they secretly left for you. If you decide to shoot the gunner, another just appears out of thin air and takes his place. And you can't shoot the pilot out, no matter how much you try or how slow the chopper flies. But if you fail to do as your told, the chopper goes down anyway and triggers the "Great shot recker" cut scene anyway.

Horrible Horrible lazy effort of a single player game.

It's a joke. I tried playing with a friend last night. 2 games I invited him from a game I was in by pressing down the track pad and both times I got stuck with the menu on my screen and nothing working so I had to go to the XMB and close down the game

I really don't know why you can't make a party before joining a game

You could on BF3, no idea why they removed or said it wasn't needed this time round.

Apparently it was removed because people moaned about squads getting split up in BF3. So instead of DICE making any attempt to fix the problem they just get rid of it

Just found a quote
“We have a new feature in Battlefield where a new squad is created when a friend joins your game. You can toggle this option on or off by going into the options menu. We’re not offering the old squad join feature because we didn’t feel that the feature in Battlefield 3 was on par with the quality that we wanted to offer our players. We have no plans to add it in the future.”

The new system doesn't work either as half of the time a single player is put into a full game. And of course server browser is still broken so you can't find a half full game to join.

Presumably that it what was meant by the "we didn't feel that the feature in battlefield 3 was on par with the quality we wanted to offer" because of the trouble finding a server where they could put 4 people from the same squad all on the same team.

However, with 64 player servers, this should be easier than BF3. The problem wasn't one that could be "fixed" per se, it was just a question of finding a server to fit that full squad on.

wow frodders your review is damming and i picked this game over COD because it's the same crap rehashed every year, with the same crappy old engine which no longer works as intended.

everyone i spoke to said BF4 was the better game, but they were talking about the online side of things rather than single player.

i think i saw somewhere you need to complete single player to get a specific gun for multiplayer is this true? is that gun worth doing single player for?

hopefully my copy arrives in the post today, tbh there isn't many games out there that interest me, should be ordering fifa sometime next week hopefully.

war thunder has been a blessing, free to play and the best game on the console atm imo for online multiplayer.

They should implement a system similar to KZ for people in a party. In that game if you're in a party and you go to start a game you're put into a sort of pre-game lobby where it wait for your friends to join before finding a match. It works perfectly fine as well.

there are 4 weapons in multiplayer that can only be obtained from playing singleplayer. The m412 Rex pistol you get for doing the first level. the remaining three come from the last mission where you get a choice. To obtain all 3 you have to replay the mission and make all 3 choices.

First time i completed the campaign it didn't register so had to re-do the entire thing to get to the last level to do it a different way. Thankfully this time it registered so could just click replay and do it the third way.

The single player is a terrible, terrible lazy effor that most who buy battlefield won't play. I think only one other person on my friends list has done the full campaign.

The multiplayer is good, but it needs all the patches that have been seen on PC and PS4, because the Xbox hasn't had one yet and its horrendous how many bugs this game shipped with.
