Jack Whitehall King of Comedy

TV is crap nowadays and most who are on it are utter ****s.

For my comedy fix I'll go back and watch TV shows from the 80s and 90s.

Eddie Murphy's Raw and Delerious ftw. Nothing will beat those for standup.

Whitehall deserved it just for fresh meat alone

as for the other awards - Miranda ? WTF 1970's winking at the camera and falling over is the funniest thing we can put on tv these days? what happened ! bbc comedy used to be legendary - blackadder, office, extras, red dwarf, fast show etc

fresh meat is about the only funny thing on at the moment

Micky flanagan and Kevin bridges are the 2 best comedians by far.

Kevin Bridges? Is he that Scottish guy?
This must be some new definition of the word comedian I was previously unaware of. I just don't find him funny at all.
John Richardson and Lee Mack are the two that I find funniest. I also really like Rhod Gilbert and Greg Davies

I know about 200 comedians. I'd probably put 197 of them above JW. Hell, I'd put myself up there and I haven't gigged in 18 months. Graham Norton is a presenter, Miranda is painfully untalented at comedy. Sarah Millican is better off the telly, live she's good.

Oh and for what it's worth, the best comedy on TV in recent times, as everyone knows, is The Thick of It.

Micky Flanagan used to be good but if his new tour is anything to go by then he's gone to rat ****, it didn't raise any more than a slight chuckle from me and my mates that went to see him.

I would really love to see an organised fight to the death between Jack Whitehall and Michael McIntyre, just as long as at least one of them dies.

Adam Buxton did the "funny dad" thing years ago, and his was infinitely superior.

Saw Jack Whitehall on NMTB a couple of weeks back and he was ok, but every other time I've seen him I've switched off. Comes across as a right tugger.

Reginald D Hunter, now that guy's hilarious.

e: just read up on this accolade. Seems utterly worthless, really.

not funny at all ! my blood pressure begins to rise when i see him on comedy programs  nearly as bad as watching moch of the week and andy parsons "the human duck egg" going oooh and pulling that stupid gurning face :p

not many actually funny comedians about most are diluted old stand up doing the same ol routine gags.bbc 3 for eg is lets make a new comedy show and just swop shows and invite each other on :p

Well done to him. I think he is a good comedian. Bad education is a good show. Haven't seen Fresh Meat as it just doesn't appeal to me. But must say I especially like this new show he is doing with his Dad; the bit in the one last night when he took him to a Russian baths had me in stitches and the one a few weeks ago when they had Danny Dyer and Charles Dance on was great.

just read the bbc article on it and jonny vegas kinda summed it up perfectly

"Tonight is not about ****ging off the sponsors or giving an international award away to someone just because he was here," he said.

"It is not about the state of TV and the fact you won't commission anything fresh. I would like to say there are people in this room that we don't admire. There are people in the room we don't think should have won.

"There is stuff which has been pushed through because of finance and Channel 4 feeling like the little brother compared to the BBC, but tonight is about Paul Whitehouse."
