I'm after something like Gran Turismo for the PC because I sold my PS3 and now I miss it.

Don't care for the multiplayer aspect, i'd like to play a long, involved singe player game where I can tune my car and race it.

Dirt is only rally isn't it? I've not actually played any of the Dirt games though, not heard of Grid either! :9

Will go on YouTube and have a wee look now, thanks!

NFS Shift 2 is probably the closest you'll find? Other than that theres only really proper sim games which lack the aspect your're after. C.A.R.S will probably be what you want when its released!

It has its weak points, but Race Driver 3 also allowed car component upgrades.

If you just want to be able to change setups, there is no reason to not consider the likes of Simbin games (GT Legends; GTR 1/2; Race07) or ISI's Rfactor 1/2.

Another vote for Shift 2. I think it has some pretty good mods for realistic handling, as it is the closest to "GT4za" we have really, for now.

The Simbin games are also good, but you only have a few cars per class. They're also getting on a bit so get used to manually configuring any controller you want to use.

Try out the free to play version "Raceonline" to see if the physics are for you?

if only! wish they would release forza 5 for pc.. as already said shift series are decent, grid is ok i suppose butbeen playing assetto corsa lately a lot more sim focused and the zonda is a beast!

can you point me in the right direction for mods/patches?

Not sure if this is the latest or not but this site has all the mods/patches and cars etc so take your time, look around and post on the forum if you need help. Big tip before modding it if you have the space backup the files so you can restore if you break it:

They have grip/drift mods and everything totally changes the game.

I was playing Grid 1 on the big TV with my son's yesterday and for an arcade racer I think it plays and looks pretty damn nice. Still plenty of action online using other tools.
