***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

So i was server hopping to try and find ammo...and it reset my char haha.

Found a moisin and some ammo and was heading to balota and it CTD, and now it CTD's everytime I spawn in.... so I can't play it anymore. sigh.
 
Just died again hah. Has a moisin with 12x scope, was camping the barracks and someone managed to get behind me and up the ladder and kill me without me seeing them cross the airstrip. Waited 5 min for them to loot me before I logged but now when I try and join it just says "testing 1 2 3" and doesn't log in.

You can see all the kit they took from me here...one blow with fire extinguisher killed me, i shot them but it didn't register!

I was meeting up with the group north of Cherno, however they were so busy discussing how Asians need glasses and women walk like ducks that they couldn't hear me say "it's me, don't shoot", and proceed to shoot me even though I was completely unarmed.

Got bandaged up, went to the new apartments north of Cherno, climb up the ladder, however the railings on the balcony aren't built to the correct safety standard (lawsuit incoming) so I fell and died.

Then went to meet up with them again, and Jason, with no clothes on, killed me by punching me, he then started running at Richie. Richie shot Jason but his falling semi-naked body hit Richie on the way down and killed him.

Nothing has really changed from a year ago then, lol :D
 
I have been watching this on Twitch and have to ask it seems to be missing zombies for a zombie survival game or am I missing something? Also I am taking it you cant build a base or community like Woodbury from The Walking Dead?

Zombies only spawn on restarts atm which is being worked on to fix and they are adding more (imo this should have been one of the things that was working after all this freaking time). I also believe they are adding some kind of base building although unsure how advanced it will be compared to say Epoch.

basically they getting performance and loot sorted first. they can have upto 4000 zombies with no loot. so more zombies will be added as they progress.

base building will come and has been confirmed. so basically all of the best stuff that is in certain mods with all be in standalone. this is why i said the mods dead now :)
 
The mod is far from dead and will remain heavily populated for some time to come. There is a far higher level of customisation with some of the mods available, giving very different experiences that you will not necessarily see in standalone. Saying that, standalone is where its at for me but i still think i will hop on breaking point and a few of the other mod variations.

I think the mods will really only start to tail off once they make the SA server and private hive stuff available and get the content within the core game to a comparable level of at least the original DayZ mod. Without doubt, long term it will have an impact but its sometime in the future, certainly not right now.

I had trekked down from near Stary down to Cherno where they were arsing about to continue our adventure...saw most of it through my scope but didn't let on. Was tempted to brass up Jason for his epic level of trolling but after listening to these fools on TS and seeing what I saw, I promptly turned 180, ran into a bush and logged out. Only 1 way those guys were ending up last night!
