***The Official Battlefield 4 Thread***

Bloody raging....

Pulled off one of the best snipers shots I have seen. Was on the map with the sunken battle ship. A guy on the jet sky bouncing up and down on the waves getting massive air. Followed him in my sights and pulled the trigger when he was in flight to a brilliant headshot. He was going at some pace also....

Just checked my saved videos there yesterday and the recording stopped before the shot......

so make sure you keep recording before you hit the share button after the event took place

Anyone bother using the support class? I'm only using the first gun available but it seems to take about 20 hits to kill someone, so they normally just turn around and bank me.

Either stick it out and unlock the type 88 or use a carbine.

I use the Ace 21 cqb my support class.

I am a total n00b at BF, only played a handful of BF3 games, and a couple of BF4, so could someone please explain to me the process for unlocking weapons, do each class have specific weapons they unlock or can you unlock any weapon for any class?

I take it they are unlocked by just killing people with those guns? Are attachments similar or are there challenges associated to unlocking those?

You unlock items and weapons for each class just be levelling up in each class. You then unlock weapons in each category(AR's, Carbine's etc) just by using the weapons. Unlocks for each weapon you get just by using the gun and getting kills.
If you go to the "my soldier" bit you can see what item you will unlock next in each category.

Just unlocked the LSAT yesterday and its a beast, playing HC and its a 2/3 hit kill from long range

Well I finally won the UCAV. Verdict; meh, runs out of fuel too soon to be useful, well and truly nerfed. Glad I got it though, was seriously bugging me.

Tips:

- Paracel Storm map, no pesky ground AA

- Most important, the server needs to be devoid of pro jet fighters who are hell bent on ONLY destroying other aircraft. This honestly is 70% luck and 30% skill. Quit the server and try another

- Always take the attack jet, your best kills will come from the 30mm cannon

- Focus on only boats or the AC130

Support unlocks shotguns
Engineer unlock carbines
Recon unlocks dmr
Which can be used by any class
Not sure on assault

As assault rifles/lmg/boltrifle/pdw can only be used for its class

Just received my copy for X1. After playing nothing but COD for the last month not sure what to expect from BF4, also never played any of the others in the series :)

Why have the attack helis been nerfed so much?

because people moaned too much.

Now its a case of take off, fly for 30 seconds and listen to the constant beeping as every engineer with a portable AA within a 500meter radius of you locks onto you.

Hit the ECM and then run, usually before you've actually found a target to shoot. Then of course you have the mobile AA and the active radar missiles to worry about, and then the attack jets whose 30mm cannons can rip you apart in one pass, then the boats with their AA misiles.

Not much really. Your only hope is just to move constantly from cover to cover and prey you don't get hit because if you do, its usually a critical hit which sends you plumeting to the ground nose first in an unrecoverable stall.

Glad its not just me, there's something wrong when you are actively choosing a little bird over an Apache

Managed to have a good round with the attack helicopters earlier, they aren't that bad once you learn the maps and knowing your escape is key I found. I didn't get many kills but kept alive for ages, probably manged around 6-7 kills taking their helicopter out and few tanks, I can't remember. But still good fun! would have been better with a decent gunner.

I've been running fire extinguisher but have recently swapped to ECM jammer, as find it useful for getting out of sticky spots better.

I think they need to do a few things with them though:

Speed them up a bit, they move like crap at the moment. The viper is okay but the other two are awful, especially the Chinese one.

Bring back below radar but have it only affect radar guided rockets, like it kinda should I suppose. Silly taking it away I think.

Reduce the range on the mobile AA, it's stupid that they can sit under the safety of their spawn and reach most of the map. They should still have long range I think, but not as much as they do now.

Only tip I can give, is if you've used to counter measure, and you have missiles incoming, level out and try get into some cover but don't do any fast turns or anything!

Edit: and lead jets into your spawn if you can, same for helicopters if near as the static AA will go to work on them! :)

I thought the same, only having the U100 and finding it could'nt damage a thing, BUT the i started to tap fire it and its a beast, much more controllable, and damages far quicker, even unlocked the second LMG i a couple rounds with it

Sounds pretty much like what happens whenever I get into a chopper. I don't think I've got a single kill yet with any helicopter as I'm usually shot out of the sky before I get chance. Flares are useless when you have 6 different things locking onto you at once

Its also the snipers that lock to you with the spotting binos

then of course any engineer with a guided missile can fire at you as well including the SRAW, the Javelin, and any vehicles with guided missiles such as Tanks, IFVs and boats etc..

Not a lot of things to shoot at you then ...

for those that can actually fly choppers/jets, no special controller or anything required? I am beyond awful at flying, any decent youtube tuts or something that people would recommend? I'm assuming at least a few tweaks need made to controller layout
