A friend saw this just south of Cairo....we were both wondering what the hell it was?

Some kind of Military installation?

They're building a massive spaceship in the desert to escape the giant asteroid that's on its way to obliterate the planet. You know, the asteroid they haven't told anyone about because it'd cause panic.
 
Coordinates? I cant find it, seeing as there's 1000 kilometres of desert "just south of Cairo".


But curious, your friend "saw it" yet the complex is completely different in both images, why?

I found it easily, zoom in to the blue word Cairo and it's right there.

There is another subterranean structure entrance to the left with similar circular constructions nearby. Follow the tracks from the top entrance and they pass right through one of them...

Well that's East rather than South :p

I want to say airport terminal but that doesn't seem right unless it's partway through construction?
 
It's curious about the two images. The square area is clearly quite different in size between the two as well as the smaller building changing shape.

The slopes are pretty shallow, which isn't a common thing to see unless you're trying to launch planes or whatever but the structures make no sense for that to my mind.

Vaguely reminds me of the failed German WW2 underground jet fighter building factory somehow.
