As much as I like the modern based CoD and Battlefield series I miss the good old days of an MP40 and Sten.

I would love a remake of the Hidden and Dangerous games.

Are there any new WW2 fps games on the horizon?
 
I want one but only one with an overwhelming or total focus on single player. Dynamic infantry/armour campaigns with top class attention to detail and immersion. WW2 flying games are my favourite but we have loads out or coming out so the ability to fly planes would not be necessary but co-ordinating attacks with the air force would be great too.

If a game came out with primary focus on multiplayer (co-op campaigns would be good but not vs) I would not be interested. I would love a game like mentioned above, one where you can also move up the chain of command and plan strategies and battle tactics if you are of adequate rank.
 
cod uo was perfection ! a modern take on that would be amazing. but... seeing as the big companies don't give too ***** about how a game should play now it needs a smaller company to come in and be original and focus on what makes fps good.
 
Some of my best online fps memories are from cod1/expansion, cod2, mohaa and enemy territory.
id like to see one of them remade properly with only the graphics touched up and no levelling rubbish either. Unfortunately I cannot see anything like this being made by a large dev as ww2 just wont appeal to the young generation used to remote control car bombs and high fives all round after the boom :(
 
WaW was good fun especially on servers that got rid of all the kill streak garbage.

BF4 should have gone WW1 or 2. Really missed a trick with yet another modern fps. Should have been World War based then a 2142 (BF2242) setting for BF5 and a BF:V setting for BF6 :D. Would have given us a really nice mix and would have sparked more interest for many I would think.
 
would be nice to see a good WW2 fps again. or a Vietnam one. last good Nam one was the original Battlefield Vietnam. played it soo much and even competed in it.

even a fps where go from modern to WW2 or WW1 to tell a story would good

festung looks ace crysis engine is pretty but not fluid and you need a fluid engine for fps.

gameplay needs focus not the graphics.
