4770k Overclocking

I went 4770k more for the aesthetics of wanting an orange build, the price is a factor of course but I have a fairly good budget for this build/project so am happy to send this back and go for the Ivy-E will give oit some thought this weekend and twist the wifes are when I tell her I am going to spend even more. As I think I will go 4930 probably a waste on me but i do enjoy tinkering with some benching. :D

+1 all round, The Boss just gave in to buying this one as we have just got over Xmas.

Asus x79 Dlx gets good reviews and the Gold colour theme with black works.

When The Boss gets over this will either go Ti 780 from SLI 670 or 4930k as my birthday is in may lol. I'll have to be a good boy till then and keep letting her think she wears the Pants.:D

I've got it at 4.3Ghz with 1.3v. Has been running fine for around 6 hours now so I think I'll keep it at this :) Runs in the high 70s in prime, but noway near that in applications.

Well my refurb'd H100 just died on me, lucky I got myself a retail CPU instead of the OEM, would've been out of a PC for a wee bit..

Tried 4.6 at 1.375v, stable for 3 hours in prime95 at 77C MAX, second I open a program, crashes ):

I'll continue seeing where I can push my CPU once I get the H100 back and working.
