Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

SXX having a rollercoaster......

That's the thing with a lot or AIM listed companies; proper zig-zags when it comes to the SP charts.
Bought into ALO first thing this morning upon opening. Up 13% as I type but it could drop the same amount or more by the end of the day or tomorrow.
Definately a high risk high reward area.

What are everyones investment objectives this year then ?

What ipo's are everyone looking at ? how does one get exposure to as many IPO's as possible as Hargreaves don't seem the best for it from what i have seen this year ?

I cant put anything else in my ISA now untill April apart from my Monthly savings but recently sold 20% profit in DSC and 15% profit in Speedy hire and put it all into Hammerson for the time being given that there trading 50p below NAV.

Has everyone also noticed you can do monthly savings on HL now for stocks ? i have added BP. to my monthly savings and will probbably top it up in april to the same as my shell Holding.

Anyone buying debenhams then? Good cover on the dividend, gonna be down and out today with the CEO resigning as well

Possible worth a punt as a recovery play - but a CFO resigning make me suspicious of more bad news to come. John Lewis have reported strong sales according to this on the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-25573462, so DEB's problems are of their own making.

John Lewis are their own phenomena though, unfortunately partly thats because their owners are the workers.

CFO resigning was in 12 tip investment tips by telegraph, ie. sell when they do that, as he may be trying to save his cv from an awful blotch.
I dont think sell for one reason but I have no faith in retail, not uk facing anyhow. I have Tesco though, the chart looks a buy if anything

Utility high = profit good and how useful is shopping so meh :p

Falkland oil up 10%. I filled in all gold miners for my 2014 guesses, but I bet they plunge before (if) they rise. What can move more then gold though, its an extreme prospect hence possible winner

Consumer confidence and car loans ?

Probably be an announcement about hiving off TSB before long as well ?

Persimmon and Gallifords report tommorow and then Thursday RSA report on the issues in the Irish division. I have had Persimmon shares for a while now and bought RSA yesterday as i think the market has massively overdone the sentiment on the stock, not sure about Gallifords apart from we are doing quite a bit of work for them at work at the moment.

Well apart from Kazakhmys (KAZ) and Fastjet (FJET) i had a good first 7 months with my share ISA.

Biggest gains are with Easyjet (EZY) and Quindell Port (QPP). I really can see Quindell taking off this year so topped up again at 18p.

Looks like RSA could replay maybe back to 92. Looks decent overall but I dont know their news or dynamic especially

Lloyds is strong but I set some sell orders yesterday for the 80's. I'll keep holding the rest till it gets near 100 but if I sell some here I can buy in 60's where it should bounce on a fall and I otherwise might not

I was going to say gold is bouncing a bit but its not continued immediately today.
I think it shakes the bears and sprints a bit but I sold some Centamin yesterday just because it has to hurdle 1250 first.
I think it will go up, false hope nice rise but then we fail to cement gains, gloomy price; people say what is it good for anyway, nears 1000 & when nobody is looking we get a proper stellar breakout but right now Im a disbeliever on any rise.

#BP trading past 52-week high @ 493.9 after winning first drilling concession despite chequered record. http://goo.gl/0E9r7t

Nothing doing in KAZ.
I wont call it a failure because all commodities are bad. One time I did good was to sell Anglo American at £33 and now its less then half and they are diversified but KAZ is not
Of the two, AAL looks more hopeful

Well a good day today, CNR is most of my portfolio just now, I am diversifying but need more funds, come on pay day

Have done a lot of research the past few weeks and have lots of targets but no funds, Its so frustrating watching some of them rise when im not in

Im targeting 50% rise in my entire portfolio for 2014, Will invest very little more in the AIM though

So far this week has started fantastically for me :-)

5% gain on my portfolio in 2 days. Large stake in LLOY has been good to me and INFI seems to be creeping back up too.

CSR still my top gainer but sadly not a massive investment there.

Thoughts on mothercare shares after today's fall? It didn't seem long ago investors chronicle was saying buy? They seem to have decent retail units wherever I see them and people are not going to stop having babies?

Or is there something else going on?

Interesting that Sainsbury's posted a reasonable update but has fallen. I'm buying in now, especially with good Dividend expectation.
