Hi guys,

Having a strangle problem with my iPhone 5. Whenever I leave my house and disconnect from wifi, the phone fails to automatically switch to 3G. The phone will still have signal but no data connection. It is a problem thats only appeared in the last few weeks, and is fixed by a reset of the phone. However in the last few months on occasion the phone has come up with 'No SIM' where the signal bar and carrier usually sit on the status bar, could the issues be connected?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

I came across a few threads on the apple support forum with the problem you describe while looking for an answer to a similar but slightly different problem I have.

There didn't seem to be a fix for your problem but the work around was to turn off automatic in the carrier settings and select your network manually from the list.

The problem I'm getting on my 5s is while at work I sometimes lose 3G and the phone falls back onto 2G but then stays on 2G until I toggle aeroplane mode on/off. I'm on the Three network and it falls back onto orange 2G when it loses the 3G signal. I just wish it would automatically reconnect to 3G once it picks up the 3G signal again like my Android phone does. Havnt found a solution to this either yet.

Cheers

Ah, thank you I will try that.

That sounds irritating, maybe worth a call to Three?
