New Audi Interior (NSFW!)

Like but I think it could do with the addition of a system like BMW's HUD or am I asking too much?

mmm I'd assume from the "auto" on the vent that they are all controlled by the driver but can be individually adjusted should the passenger be a ungrateful sod...I mean....cold or something :p

ooo but 3 central vents..... gunna be fights over who gets the extra airflow :p

It looks great but don't expect it to be standard whenever it does go into production. Have you seen the Audi option list !!

But it's attached to a golf in a frock... :(

They're benchmarking against a Z4, SLK and RCZ. Doh.

They need to get that R4 (or whatever they referred to it as) in production as a Cayman / F Type alternative.

Not true anymore, the MQB and MLB platform architectures changed the need for cars to share a common floorpan, just common modules.

You'd not call the Audi A8 an A4 in a posh frock, even though they are both MLB platform cars (as will be the new Porsche Macan).

I like the vents but instrument cluster is horrible. Satnav should be where it belongs- in the or above the centre console.

BMW's HUD is the best way to get all the info in the drivers line of sight. Having the whole map there is just crazy. Way too distracting and too much info IMHO.
You can barely see the speedo and rev counter!

Not a fan with the nav screen up but I'm assuming it can be switched to a more traditional view when not using it, which I imagine would look good.

I like the vents too

For those saying too much information, the source does mention how it can be cut down if you wish:

If you switch to the dash screen's ‘classic' view, you get a speedo and rev counter in the foreground, while in ‘infotainment' mode, you get smaller dials with more space for stuff like sat nav or audio

I sort of like that, but..

How is the passenger supposed to use and operate the navigation system etc?

At last it's better than the godawful 'Tablets are cool! Lets make our cars look like we've got a Tablet fitted to the dash' approach Merc take.

BMW have that tablet thing going on as rear entertainment and I think it looks really nice there. Agreed in the front though.
