Best Android tablet for £200 and £300?

Not had any experience with the g pad, screen res being the same as my old note is a bit of a downside these days.

Most tablets though feel like a step backwards to use now to me even highly specced ones compared to the Sony Xperia Z tablet :|

I'm a bit confuse, the G Pad as the same res as the Xperia Z but higher ppi thanks to it being small and a much better panel, faster SoC, same ram, you can get GPE so I would say better software.

Ah specs on the screen were wrong on the site I looked at.

The Z's omni balance design is in a class of its own when actually handling the tablet - most if not all other tablets feel like cheap toys in comparision once your used to it :| gonna make upgrading a pain.

You cant get gpe, not sure why people keep saying this. GPE devices are not available in the uk.

I have not used one for long but the G Pad is pretty good, it has a nice solid metal constructions and is close to the iPad Mini. I'm not sure how that compares to the Z.

I have my gpad on the way so dont take this as random criticism as i have just bought the device. But all it has is a backpanel of alu, rest is just plastic.

Toshiba Excite is yesterday's news.

it was heavily discounted short while ago (for a reason) but is pants against G Pad for example.

U WOT M8?

Other than the 5Hrs battery life (screen on time), the Toshiba is a fine tablet, espcially for the bargain price.

As far as I can see, there's nothing outstanding about the G Pad.

G Pad is 1200p :p, not 800.

edit - beaten.

The fact it doesn't work straight off the bat is a pain - you'd think it'd be hunky dory seeing as they have the exact same hardware - afaik.

wifi/bluetooth and bricking phones. Just the first 2 render the device useless mate. Whats the point of a tablet with no internet access :)

I will likely put paranoid android on mine as thats apparently running well.

Like I said it has issues, and clearly no wifi is a none starter, but you certainly can get GPE. I think it might be a bit slow to start off due to limited GPE supply and so on. PA is fine too. I was actually expecting a fully working GPE rom right away.
