*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

Thinking of selling my Nexus 7 2013 now, used it every day until i bought my Nexus 5, now it just sits on my desk doing nothing!

Not a big enough step up in size is it. I sent mine back just waiting on the refund to order either a gpad 8.3 or wait and see what new tabs samsung announces.

Well i still have my pc, when i'm not on that i sit on my phone so it's being wasted. shame really as it's a brilliant tablet.

Grab a wireless charger from Amazon once you get your new one, then you've got next to no reason to plug it in.

I think I will. But it's disappointing that it broke after only a couple of months. It makes me feel that it could break again at any time. I really do think that the micro USB design is very poor. the lightning cable connector on ipads feels so much more robust.

Haven't noticed anything like that on my tab, try installing the app again. Does it do the same thing when using YouTube through chrome?

Done that, doesn't help.

If I play 1080p through the website it's fine. HD in the YouTube app is only 720p which is mental considering most android devices are 1080p these days. Plus when it plays standard def or 720p it doesn't scale it on the screen properly which means the image comes out with jaggies.

The YouTube app is a really nice experience, but the lack of 1080p is disappointing.

How is Ovivo?
I am looking to move my wife who is with Giffgaff to Ovivo. The free phone package would be plenty for her.

Sorry for the delay but I've now had chance to try out the Ovivo SIM (although mine is data only) and it seems fine so far. The ads can be a bit annoying but they don't come up that often really.

I have a 4G EE pay as you go SIM here in case I decide I want rid of the ads completely and want 4G speeds (unlikely to bother for the extra cost though).

Has anyone tried using this for BF4 app as a battlescreen? I find its really laggy as compared to the iPad Air, surely the hardware in the Nexus 7 should be able to cope with this?

Got one of these just before Christmas. Loving it so far. Used to have an iPad 4 which I gave to my mum. The Nexus is so much easier to hold and is just about the right size for reading/watching. Screen is superb, one of the main selling points for me over the new retina iPad mini.

I have the 16Gb version as I didn't plan to mainly use it for streaming content and reading which is does all very well so far.

The only downside I see so far is the battery performance. I'm getting the specified usage out of it but compared to the iPad I just feel that this is a little low. Need to get a smart case for it and possibly a wireless charger but I'm not really a fan of these huge one.

Really liking my Nexus 7 so far that I got just before xmas, its pretty much replacing my home laptop usage at the moment when I cant be bothered to fire up the laptop, which is a good thing, I was worried I would still be using the laptop more.

Screen is excellent.

It's the size I love. It's perfect for holding in one hand and typing/swyping with the other. I'd recommend the Poetic case as it hardly adds any bulk. I also have the official Asus screen protector on mine; it's a twin pack with one gloss protector and one matte. The matte one is really nice for cutting down glare.

Just picked one up locally for £135 which I am very satisfied with... appears to be absolutely brand new. Excellent stuff.
