As long as a videogames console isn't the size of amplifier (big and hella bulky) then I dont really care.

I'm not sure why people are trying to justify sales figures, lets hope (the console you bought) is doing poorly so that they bust their ass in gear and either price cut/ produce more games/improve OS etc.

If sony outsold 2:1 it's not as if MS are going to stop releasing the same games, so why would I care?

I have a friend who I worked with for many years and he went on to work for Microsoft... he gets very good incentives to buy or us Microsoft products, as do I think pretty much all Microsoft employees. I'll be honest. the benefits and loyalty Microsoft employees get from Microsoft is meant to be really good. was the case for my mate, he has always had Xbox However he has gone on to buy a ps4 which was fairly surprising as he has never owned a Sony games console in his life..

I did question his choice, he just said he felt the ps4 more a successor to the 360 and the tv services on the Xbox one really aren't for the UK market..

I'll explain.

My point was that the box is as big a differentiating feature as anything else, considering the systems are virtually identical.

I actually meant the cardboard box, not the casing.

Don't take it too literally.

has he really tired to justify his comment by saying he'd go on the outer box a console is packaged in? wow, talk about judge a book solely on its cover...
 
Xbox sold just over 3 million units and is readily in stock, PS4 sold over 4 million and are sold out everywhere.

I fully expected both consoles to be sold out and hard to find to at least 5 million but Xbox got nowhere near that so it looks like MS have an uphill struggle.

They would like you to think they're different, yes. To all intents and purposes they're probably 95% identical.

The price difference is due to Kinect.

The cheaper one is significantly more powerful.

And when the ps4 launches in japan, god knows how many that will be? Anyone think that could be another million at launch??
 
I know this is just a single case, but I was in my sainsbury's on Friday, ps4, xbox360 and even wii u all sold out, but could have got an xbox one. They have been easy to get near me since a couple of days before Christmas.

It's something I'm quite happy about though. I'm not really in the market for a next gen console, but if I was I'd get an Xbox One for all the extra fancy gadgety stuff that is largely irrelevant in a games console. I've had the pleasure of using both quite a lot, and the PS4 is probably the better games platform, but then I have a PC for the vast majority of games I want to play.

I like Kinect, I like what they've done with it (Xbox fitness is astoundingly good) and its a coin toss between friends who've bought either console as to who I get to play Fifa/Madden NFL with. I think of the people I game with on consoles, 7 have an XB1 and 5 have PS4 so it's much of a muchness.

What I like about it is the likelihood of a decent bundle for the XB1 given the stock situation. If I could find a bundle with Fifa14, Forza and the charging kit for a small saving I'd probably pull the trigger on it.
