Im talking actual in dream happenings, affecting you (whilst you are asleep) and as such killing you?

I was having a nap, so in a light sleep... was dreaming that I jumped off a waterfall, seemed OK to do at the time... anyway I opened my parachute and got blown into the waterfall. Now at this point in my semi sleep state I could or thought I could feel myself hold my breath and brace for the impact of the water below.

I then felt that sensation as I was under water under the waterfall... which was made worse by popping up and seeing a 20ft wave come in a crash down on top of me... the struggle and not being able to surface forced me to wake up, but I felt like id been through the bleedin' rinser physically!

Weird but I really felt as if I was holding my breath and my heart was going crazy, with my body feeling all sorts of impacts.

Yes. If you die in your dreams you die in real life. Just like the Matrix. I've had a lot of close shaves myself. All of them by snu snu.

Take care.

I had that the other night, bit weird. I was laying on a bed and was about to be given the lethal injection. Dunno why, im a lovely bloke.

But still i saw them inject me and i felt myself slowly stop breathing, felt like my body was shutting down and i didn't breath for about 30 seconds. I still had my eyes open, but i thought that was what death felt like. Wasn't too bad to be fair. Obviously i started breathing again. or wooo im a ghost.

A really strange experience though.

Yeah, if you dream you are falling, its cuz someone just threw you off the top of a building and you are about to go splat.. better wake up and stop yourself..

sounds like a waking dream to me...

Yes you can.

They've made several documentaries on it
Google "Nightmare on elm street"

EDIT: Damn Firefox lock up
Beaten like a fat ginger kid

I did dream that i'd lost all of my cards out of my wallet the other night. Woke up to find one missing, then realised that I hadn't put it back in when I got back.

The drink gave me a vision, I suppose. No death either.

The narrative is applied retroactively in the moments as you wake up to whatever jumble of images are bouncing around in your noggin'. That is why you get that deception of the sense that a dream has in some way been a premonition of events just unfolding as you awake.

I died in a dream last as the slave girls were about to.......

Got woken by my wife as she said I was snoring.

I've jumped from buildings, fell from mountains, run into walls at pace in my dreams but I seem to wake up on impact.

I don't think you can die in your dreams......wait a minute... What about all those people who apparently die in their sleep? Do they dream for one last time and have a crazy nightmare? Argh................

No but there many reports of nightmares leading to a heart attack which comes with pain that is assimilated in the dream, making it a "dream happening". In this scenario, death is certainly a possibility.

I can't imagine you can die as a direct result (As in, you dream of having a heart attack so your heart in real life gives out). But I can only assume you can die from things like strangling yourself, sleepwalking off a roof or something bizzare.

In either case, it's probably so rare you'd only find it on the Metro or Daily Fail websites.
