hey, so i asked for some spec help awhile back, and im almost ready to buy (get some money in a week or two) and i think i've decided on this as a final build

not really asking for you to go do a full spec me, but to suggest changes if you think there is a good reason to change something! id like to give nvidia a try, as i've always gone Ati before, and i saw some screen shots where nvidia's ambient occlusion added some noticeable quality to skyrim

EDIT:

per people's advice, this is what im currently considering: sadly, there's been some price bloat, and now i feel like it's silly to spend so much and not have a 780 gtx, the sacrifices we make for computer fashion :(, will it be safe to spraypaint the backplate of my GPU? i've removed the RAM from the list since i bought it already!

I would put these in...

Retail cpu is a couple of quid cheaper so you might as well get it for the longer warranty and backup HSF.

Green led ram to match the board

Better SSD

i was going to get the retail cpu but i think it's on this week only, then goes back up to £190~! what do you think about going for some cheap all in one water cooler? i have no experience in water cooling, and the only person i know personally who did had a leak on his mobo, so im sort of cautious..

that's a good point about the Mobo colors, i think i'll switch to this mobo: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-437-GI

so i can continue with a blue theme, and save a few ££

It isn't - but they're cable extensions, not replacements. So you just stick them on the end of the existing cables and keep those ugly things hidden from view.

oh i see, thanks!

edit: wont the cables mostly be hidden apart from the 8+6 pin pcie?

The EVO is the better drive - whether you'll see any real world difference is another question, though. But it certainly does look better (and SSDs go on the bottom of the case, so you'll see them).

I doubt the h80i would fit in the top (too thick, especially in push/pull), but it will go in the rear.

i was just going to do Push (only OCing to 4, perhaps 4.1), the rear is a 140mm mount though? (i think the h80i is a 120mm?)

i was thinking of spray painting my SSD white, or is that stupid?

120mm fan mounts are there:

- Rear: 1x 140mm or 1x 120mm (1x 140mm included)

As long as you don't get any paint on the connectors, I don't see why you couldn't spray paint an SSD. Might affect the warranty, though...

what do you guys think about white extensions instead of blue? of course it's a subjective question, but at this point im happy to just gather opinions :p

ps: CRISIS, the H80i is too wide to fit at the top, and the way the tubing will look if i put it at the back is horrendous, ack :(

My opinion: a mixture of white and blue, or just blue... there's already so much white.

Regarding the cooler, this one with a blue led fan should perform fine and look good in a white/blue themed build, with the added benefit of a blue led logo on the pump:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Liquid Cooling Solution - TS13X High Performance CPU Cooler £79.99

The Superflower 650W also has a blue led fan so it should light up the underside of the case a bit too.

And the white lighting you've chosen should give everything its proper colour, so the blue leds will look nice but not drown everything in blue. There's no need for the Akasa blue lighting strip imo. There'll be just enough blue hue already with the RAM, the PSU fan, the PSU cover logo, and the CPU pump and rad fan (if you go for that one). Seeing everything washed in just one colour, even if it's your fave colour, gets old very fast. It's nice to see the different colours, and how they match.

I think it will look stunning mate. I sincerely hope you will take plenty of pics and post them for us, whatever parts you decide on. :)

i had completely overlooked the intel cooler, i'll have to have a think about it! thanks for the heads up, also; i don't think the psu LED's will show, as they'll be hidden under the case's psu compartment?

either way, you can rest assured i'll be posting as many pics as people can bear to look at :p

edit: added H100i instead of H80i (purely for aesthetic reasons :( ) and I changed cables back to blue from white,

there doesn't seem to be a white/black fan on the market which is a suitable replacement for the stock H100i fans! can fans be spray painted? id have thought it might cause balance issues.

I've been forced to cut back to a 60gb SSD for price reasons, but i guess im only using it as a boot drive and for a few day-to-day programs anyway, no games or media

No worries. The PSU fan led should illuminate the floor a bit. You'll have to put its fan facing the bottom.
