Royal Maiil - more laughable than ever

I purchased something from Ebay which was not as described so returned it by recorded delivery (item was about £45)

It did not arrive, there is no tracking info and the seller says it did not arrive

I filed a lost item report and finally after over 2 months I get a letter

"we wrote to Mrs xxxxx requesting confirmation of whether or not the item arrived but have not had a reply, I am therefor ASSUMING that we have delivered the item"

So on no evidence whatsoever they ASSUME it was delivered, clowns

They have included a pack of 6 stamps a reimbursement :p

stamps and snotty letter on their way back to them

It sounds like for some reason they have not realised that you sent it signed for when processing your claim. 6 stamps is the normal compensation where there is no proof of delivery failure ie normal first or second class mail

If our posty is anything to go by then I'm not surprised things go missing, or 'assumed delivered'

We're getting mail delivered to our address that should be going to No.29

We live at No.23

The 6 stamps as reimbursement is an absolute joke.

Another RM/Postie thread.... the joy :D

Yep, in some aspects we're **** as a company
Yep, in most offices some staff are lazy ass dicks (same for every company I might add)
Yep, some customers are useless at writing addresses (wrong town & wrong postcodes & wrong name & wrong house numbers) - You wouldn't think they actually know the person by how crap they are at getting these basic things right.
Yep, some customers can't package an item correctly. - I've had to handle a porcelain figurine what had one thin layer of bubble wrap in a carrier bag with an address on it. How the **** the Post Office accepted that I'll never know.
Yep, we need to improve but so do the customers, but one can happen, the other won't, I'll let you decide which.
Profits & shareholders will not mean a substantial investment into the company as people are making a killing on the shares atm.

And I hope the OP gets things sorted with regards his item, as it's things like that which make the things we do well pale into insignificance.

Another ebay thread
Is it? In that case, does anyone know if Paypal cover for goods that are lost in the post? I am missing 3 parcels from 3 different sellers, so I am pretty confident its not the sellers but lost by Royal Mail.

Local sorting office seemed completely disinterested and said all post is out for delivery...

I had to post something recorded delivery earlier in the week only to find that they apparently no longer do recorded delivery and only do the more expensive special delivery. I can only see profit being the reason behind that. I wish someone else would start letter delivery too.

EDIT: Haha I just tried a quote on parcel2go for a package the same size and weight as a standard envelope and its cheaper to use a courier than to use royal mail for a letter. That is absolutely nuts. Someone will come to my house and collect it cheaper than me going out of my way to get to a post office.

RM have always been great with me :D
had the cost of check and send fully reimbursed once when I complained about the lady in the post office claiming my 1981 birth certificate was not good enough because it was not a full birth certificate....

the guide book says otherwise as they did not give full certificates of birth back then and the check and send people should know that!

I convinced her to send it anyway even though she claimed it would just be sent back to me...

If theirs anything wrong with the RM, its ALL the management that are constantly in a state of how can we best **** over the people doing that actual work, I have a few mates that all work for the RM as Posties, how management try and treat them is disgusting.

Personally, I have never had a failed delivery from them.

esoteric Is right.
People are retards !!! ****ed up post codes or not readable details are daily basics. Bad packing cause they are saving or something ??

I've not ever had a problem with RM, sent 1st class recorded and Special Delivery. I was told that SD uses another network to normal mail, that's why it's more expensive and reliable.

I have had various problems with couriers though, too many to mention.

Whoever told you Recorded doesn't exist anymore is telling porkies.

Recorded = Signed For
Tracked (Signature)
Special Delivery

Those all need signing for and still exist.... well they did yesterday when I delivered them :D

Post offices are often strange places, I've had them try it on with me, so I only ever use labels that I've bought online and don't take their words for it, being insistent usually works for me to get them to take the parcel from me and scan it in.

Royal Mail have magic powers that break items inside "well packaged" boxes

Recorded does not exist as such any more. It is called 'signed for' instead. Its exactly the same service though.

I have been diddled out of items something chronic over the years. REVENGE!

order an expensive coat, courier leaves it in the garden, wear said coat and email to say it never arrived. Receive refund and keep expensive coat.

KARMA!

p.s. Never said I did this, and I'm not saying anyone should as it's fraud!

Got a "something for you" card dropped from them this morning. Says opening hours and local depot.

Drove there only to find the retarded postman hadnt written wait 48 hours/ until monday 10am?! Wasted journey for me and now having to wait all weekend to receive this important paperwork.

Ive stopped using them for any parcels. Parcel2go and UPS Access point is cheaper and more convenient.
