Hi,

i use a HD7990 for bf4 with a 140hz monitor (set to 120hz) -

ive got another 60hz monitor i can attach

BUt - my questions is -

attaching a second monitor would it ... use one of my GPUs to power it and so on my main monitor (bf4) only use one of the GPUs ?

also can i set each monitor to individual refresh rates ?

cheers for any response -

if it runs like my old 6990 then the one chip powers them both and you can set different refresh rates to each monitor. BF4 would still use the power of both chips.

Yep - you can set individual refresh rates and the GPU power is spread over the two monitors, but having a secondary monitor for just browsing the web and stuff is practically imeasurable(word?) on GPU load.

be a pro and have the second screen for the BF4 map :) that's what I do and i'm definately not pro! Still helps to be able to glance to the side and see who's where etc.

How do you do this?
This would help me no end as I'm pretty **** at the best of times :)

If I got two 24" monitors I take it you could tilt them 90 degrees side by side and have a nice square big monitor?

Not touched this one since I bought it, was a cheap deal back when vista was out (1680x1050).

I do this and it's pretty useful, i have my monitors stacked vertically though. When you joining a server, there is a link called battlescreen, click it and you'll get the live map of the server you're on. Then just pop it onto your second monitor.
Multiple monitors work fine at different refresh rates ;)

Do you have to do anything special to get them working at different refresh rates?
When I tried it the second monitor was all jerky.
Tried it on 2 different PCs (I think both with AMD cards in, both monitors running off one card)?

Ah after some digging on the Bf4 forums, this can only be done on softcore servers and not hardcore, it works pretty cool though and its a shame its not on the hardcore servers, maybe in a future update.

There is no mini map on hardcore, so battle screen is never going to work IMO, way too much of an advantage..
It is handy having 2 monitors, even just using one for monitoring tempsand load, playing music etc while gaming.
