**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

Asymmetric 2 full house ordered.Total came to less than the last round of Ultrac Sessanta which is welcome I guess. 4 years of Sessanta (PS2 before that) so am looking forward to seeing how the Asy2 differs.

The site referenced different grip/noise/rolling resistance ratings for the same tyre, I chose the C,A,B ones (resistance, wet grip, noise). As above, I don't think this matters too much either. Never saw those figures when ordering tyres last time back in 2012.

I'm currently looking to get a full set of new tyres for my wife's Celica T-Sport.

I was thinking either Continental Sport Contact 5 or Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric.

Is there anything else I should consider? The size is 205/45R17 if that helps at all.

Hardly do any miles on the car, so just want the best rubber on it.

First few days with the Asymmetric 2 and I'm quite liking them. Not done long miles on them yet (that will be tonight) but immediate differences vs the Vred Sessanta are that I notice stopping distance is improved, wet grip is maybe a bit better, DSC doesn't come on if pushing hard in 1st/2nd gear as much and turning grip seems better although feedback through the wheel isn't as sharp, this is probably down to them not being fully worn in yet. They also seem a bit quieter than the Sessanta.

Overall impressed!

The dealer is paying for new tires for my CGT, I have F1 AS2s for my Scooby, wondering if I should go for the same?

It's out of:

F1 AS2
P Zeros
ContiSport 5
PilotSport3

Will be ordering AS2s tomorrow unless anyone has a better suggestion?

AS2 is definitely an excellent tyre. At "high" speeds I find the steering lighter feeling that with the Vreds but these are a lot more stable and the grip....!

Just recently changed to Toyo t1r's on my ST, really impressed with them so far, much safer than the Parada 2's at this time of the year too ;)

I made the change as the Yoko's were on my old 17" wheels which I traded for 16's but came with budget tyres, I disliked the Yoko's because the sidewalls were way too stiff (At least on a low profile like I had anyway) and they are just dangerous in the cold/wet.

Only done a few hundred miles on the t1r so far but they have much softer sidewall so ride better and while they are far from the best in the rain they are infinitely better than what they replaced.

The rainsport 2's on my E46 are going to be needing a change sometime.

I got them with the car, they seem really good, shall I just get the same again? I can't tell if mine are the higher load versions, do I need this?

The only complaint I have is the fairly high road noise, but I guess this is more to do with the car being on 17"s?

Any other options? I like these are they do seem very good in the wet and that's where I tend to feel my least confident driving.

E - Maybe I should google before asking stupid questions. So the RS3 is out, it seems to perform better then the RS2 so shall I just go for that then?
