Current batch are using Hynix memory and it was these cards 8 Pack used recently to claim 10 World Records, such a great card with a near silent cooling solution which can keep the card quiet and cool. :)

Dam soo tempted to buy one at this price!!! But I don't get paid until end of this week :(

Was it really these MSI cards 8pack used? or 290x's in general?

He actually used:-

4x MSI Gaming 290X, binned by myself. I tested ten cards, the worse ones only did 1215MHz core and 6600MHz memory on the stock air cooler in an air-conditioned room at 15c. The best ones did 1260MHz core and 6800MHz memory.

This was using 1.425v and all cards were flashed to the Asus BIOS.

He also had two old Asus reference cards, which are good for 1220Mhz on the core under air but can do 7000MHz memory.

So far the MSI Gaming's are the best clockers we've seen and so far they all appear to be using Hynix memory too. :)

May be ask the man himself? Saw his topic at mm letting go some of the gears he used in his competitions :)

8 Pack / HiVisman have purchased them for themselves. Like I say I got one box of ten cards out of stock.

They all clocked very well, all achieving over 1215MHz core and 6600MHz memory with Asus BIOS, 1.425v in an air-conditioned room.

For gaming use in a case I'd run them at 1100-1150MHz core with 1.30-1.35v and memory around 6000MHz.

The great thing is you can run this card with 100% fan and its still quieter than reference card at 40-45% fan. :D

Literlary got mine from OcUK this afternoon. Just done a fresh install and will be throwing my games at it.

Used afterburner to whack the fans to 100% and while not quiet, certainly not game-stoppingly loud. Happy with that.

Elpida are bust, so i take it we are not going to see Elpida GPU's anymore?

90% of Black screening 290's are Elpida, i think AMD were sold a bad batch just before they went kaput.

Shocking if true.

Nonetheless both my Elpida's do 1625mhz and 416gb of bandwidth. Providing i have the core voltage high enough.

Not usre why you keep saying that Elpida have gone bust, as Micron Technology bought them at a very very reduced price.

So do you have data to back up these wild claims?

People get black screens on both Hynix and Elpida cards, yet some never have an issue.

My home PC has an Asus 290X with Elpida RAM, it will benchmark at 6500MHz memory and will game happily at 6000MHz with no black screens.

They are not bust, now owned by Micron.

Elpida, Hynix and Samsung is RAM most likely to be found on GPU, though Samsung have a severe shortage hence a lack from them.
