*** The iPad Air thread ***

How soon until the OS update, I will be so pleased when the safari crash to tablettop is gone?

I seem to have cured mine by clearing the safari cookies and data in settings. Since doing this, I've not had a close whilst browsing (previously it would happen several times a day). I did lose most of my saved passwords though but not all oddly enough.

Picked up an air today. :D

I held off buying the apple case.
Are there any better recommendations? If not, I'll gladly invest the 35 quid into the apple one.

As for screen protectors, and recommendations? Sorry for the multi-asks :p

Cheers,
Tom

I like the apple full cover case but with it being leather after a while its starts to absorb the oils from your hand. It shows up on my brown one, it may not on a darker one.

I've had invision cases in the past with old iPads and was pleased with them. I've been through a few though with a the clip corners sometimes breaking and not holding it as good as it did. At under £20 a pop though, they're good for the money.

Thinking about giving my iPad3 to the mother-in-law for her birthday (her macbook's just died), in order to get the thumbs up for a cheeky upgrade from the missus.

The air sounds like a good upgrade but I've heard bad things about the screen glass being flimsy/spongy. Can any owners here give me a honest idea of how bad it is? I'm quite picky and love the robustness of the 3's screen.

An alternative would be to get a 4 instead. First-world problems!

The screen in the air is fine but it does feel different to tap on compared to 4th gen ones and below. It feels a bit plasticky in comparison. It's probably something that contributes towards the weight saving.

one of the reasons we bought an IPAD 4 (other than the fact we got a 128 for less than the price of 32 air) - kids use them all the time - and whilst I'm sure the Air is durable - from playing with one - I wasn't sure if as durable as the older style

I mean we have an IPAD 3 - must be 18 months old or so - used for hours every day by kids, no screen protector, but in a case, its been dropped a couple of times etc, and kids aren't exactly over careful with it - but screen once cleaned is still pristine - not a mark on it

Been using my air a few days now and very impressed with the tablet. Not had a single issue with it other than Safari crashed once but no problems since.

Ended up buying a 'swees' case from the rain forest after being disgusted with Apple charging £65 for the cover. It's not the money that stopped me buying one, but it just seemed extortionate for a case! The swees came with a stylus and screen protector. For a tenner I'm very pleased with it all.

Well the durability of the 3-4 series is top-notch so I guess I'll have to try one in the flesh to see the difference.

I can save £60 by getting the 64gb 4 over the 64gb air, but I don't want to be kicking myself in a year's time for getting the slower of the two.
