Games like Heroes of Might & Magic?

Title, I've played through Expeditions: Conquistador (which was ****ing beyond awesome) and was wondering if there were any other games like it and Might & Magic? I've had a look at HoMM6 and heard it's complete crap, so any alternates? Cheers.

I think King's Bounty is supposed to be a lot like them might be worth a look.

Huzzah! Have all of those so I'll crack on with them, really shocked there aren't more games like these. Found a gem in Gorky 17 too, people should check that out.

Is it Legend > Armored Princess > Crossworlds > Warriors of the North? I know Legend is first, but not sure about the others. Cheers!

Yea 6 is shockingly bad, the gf loves the series but plays the older games because 6 is just plain terrible.

To a similar style to Heroes of might and magic is this game:

I've only played the first 2 Kings Bounty games, but as a MASSIVE HOMM (3 specifically) fan, they were great.

Another thumbs up for King's Bounty. The battles capture the "feel" of Heroes III brilliantly and the maps are "rich", there's always something to do. The highest difficulty is brutal, it allows little room for mistakes or inefficient army composition - love the challenge.

King's Bounty Legions has been released recently too, for PC and smartphones. I haven't tried it yet but I've heard it's not bad and, most importantly, it's built around multiplayer.

Kings Bounty games are great. I'm pretty sure if memory serves me right you can skip AP if you already own Crossworlds, as that is AP with some extras (think of it like Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within).

Age of Wonders is pretty similar. Hex map, turned based battles. Its an old game but still very good, can be had on GOG for next to nothing.

You should take a look at Legends of Eisenwald - it's in early access atm on Steam and it's pretty damn good. Should be released soon(ish)

Yep, this King's Bounty game is awesome, pretty brutal though, damn near blowing my lid whenever an enemy kills some of my irreplaceable OP thorn rangers. Haven't been frustrated like that for a loooong time.

So check out Eador, AoW and LoE, skip Armored Princess. Got it! Cheers guys.

Warlock Master of the Arcane is similar too, no actual battle screen though, so not quite as tactical. Good game though.

Hell yes! I reluctantly let those go when the summoned plants started getting one-shot by everything..
