The Wolf of Wall Street

Just got back from watching this with the missus and have to say utterly superb movie although its definitely an 18+ movie lol. The amount of boobies and swearing in it had my missus blushing but really enjoyed it with the humour thrown in for good measure.

Just got back from this - our local cinema has a sofa room with a bar, so sitting though these 3 hour films is a genuine pleasure :)

Really enjoyed it. Read the book last year and thought it would make an excellent film. They've obviously left a few bits and pieces out, but the book was so entertaining that it made sense to retain most of the shenanigans.

Will happily go watch this again!

best film seen so far this year.... I doubt it gets topped for comedy and acting wise who would have ever though Leonardo was that comical gifted :)

Margot Robbie yes perfection of girl next door definition

how did they make all their money then? does the book elaborate?
stock trading can be a funny one to get your head around as its nothing tangible

Only one film that may have topped this one :

Well
they covered a fair bit of it in the film - shuffling penny stocks of companies which barely exist and taking a 50% commission off the top of it. If you make 500 phone calls a day, the chances our someones going to buy what you're selling.

The other part they covered, which is the real money spinner, was taking firms to IPO, but owning the majority of the stock anyway. If you take a firm to IPO and you own 85% of that company already, and then drive the stock price up, you're going to make a fortune!

Bit of controversy at the moment, due to Jonah releasing how much he got paid for the film, compared to dicaprio

wow so jonah got paid $60k and leo 20 mill

Leo best be da man and simply give jonah and the other cast members at least 5 mill split that is insane....no matter how rich or poor tis what I would do !

di caprio is one of the best and most in demand actors that there has ever been who by just being involved sells tickets and jonah is a two bit comedy actor who has mainly only ever played 'that' same part

the difference is that jonah wanted to work with scorsese no matter what whereas i bet scorsese wanted to work with di caprio again no matter what.
