The best Vocalist of all time?

Chris Cornell
Maynard James Keenan
Mike Patton
Eddie Vedder
Freddie Mercury

That'd be my top 5 I think.

Honourable mention to Skin from Skunk Anansie.

Unless it's a world famous bloke (Freddie and MJ are obvious) it'd be good if you put in the bands they're from, like murf has with Skin (the only one in his list I know other than Freddie, ironically)

Chris Cornell - Audioslave, Soundgarden
Maynard James Keenan - Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer
Mike Patton - Faith No More, Portal (:p)
Eddie Vedder - Pearl Jam
Freddie Mercury - Queen

Voila :p

I'm going to have to go with Mikael Åkerfeldt

Everything from melodic, mournful, soulful lyrics to demonic growl, and switching between the 2 within a bar of a song :D

Opeth :p

Male: Blackie Lawless. The guy just is metal. His voice can have rock, grit, melody, meaning and sleaze in it all at the same time. Never tire of him.

Female: Anneke van Giersbergen. I remember the first time I heard her sing on Strange Machines, I thought, "wow, this is something special."

Oh ok. Lawless is W.A.S.P., van Giersbergen ex-The Gathering.

A few years ago I would have chosen him. I suppose I didn't because the last two Opeth albums don't do much for me and the only albums of theirs which I really find replayable now are Deliverance and Still Life. Possibly Ghost Reveries. OK that's three, but there are about nine or ten W.A.S.P. albums which I have in perpetual rotation.

Mind you, that's not to say that Katatonia's Brave Murder Day or Edge of Sanity's Crimson don't deserve a mention for Akerfeldt.

im always serious

axl rose is the same, rare 12 octave voice
