Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 4th February 2014]

Leed's fire manager McCormack hat-trick 5-1 win, :p

Definitely shouldn't have kept that player who wasn't interested in being there any more. Brentford conceded late to draw, still not lost in some silly number of games now, 2 point gap at the top, 18 point gap to 7th.

Valencia beat Barca 3-2 at the Nou Camp :o

I wouldn't worry, The Glazers are pretty ruthless when it comes to getting rid of people they think are affecting their bottom line...as we have seen with their NFL franchise.

They will give him a little time and then of he doesn't perform they will replace him.

Moyes is increasingly getting out of his depth and it shows, he may well be an honest, capable manager, but he has none of the gravitas and sheer personality and force of expectation that a club of Manchester United's stature has come to demand. Moyes, in almost a dozen years of management has never won a major honour and is, I suspect, as transitory as the period in which Manchester United find themselves...and unless David Moyes has the ability to stand and smash through his own limitations then we shall see a new manager at Manchester United sooner rather than later.

I have to agree. I really want Moyes to do well, and I like him, but I'm not sure he's up for it. Little proof of that so far. He must have written this season off now surely.

Poor Juan, what has he done?:(

:(

2 games and 2 assists for him so far. He plays some great passes, one fell to RvP and we scored, another fell to Welbeck and he didn't even touch it... :(

So Arsenal sign a player to cover injuries who is already injured himself?

David Ornstein, BBC Sport
Kim Kallstrom update
"New Arsenal signing Kim Kallstom is set for a spell on the sidelines with a back injury that was discovered in the medical before he signed on loan from Spartak Moscow.

"The 31-year-old Sweden midfielder sustained the problem on Tuesday while playing football on a beach during Spartak's pre-season tour in Abu Dhabi.

"He informed Arsenal of discomfort upon arriving at the club on Friday but, despite an MRI scan showing no damage, a CT scan found an issue with his back.

"The Arsenal medical team provided manager Arsene Wenger with the prognosis, but it was decided Kallstrom would still join and undergo his rehabilitation with the Gunners.

"He is expected to miss at least Arsenal's next six games, in which they face Crystal Palace, Liverpool twice, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Sunderland.

What that hell was Wenger thinking?

To quote myself:

Stoke were lucky but that's no excuse.

This is half our problem. Top teams don't lose to crap teams because they were a little lucky. You need luck on your side when you are not playing well occasionally. If you need luck to beat Stoke then you are in trouble.

Moyes is always saying how unlucky we are when we should be pasting the teams by a few goals so a little bad luck won't matter.

This is just a sad state of affairs at the moment. If he doesn't have a massive improvement he has to go. Why on earth was Young playing? Why did Welbeck come on? Why is Cleverley still playing for us?

Wenger, thinking......... lol

Seriously though, earlier I think it was Shami said he hurt himself in the first training session which you know, lol, irony, Arsenal luck.

But, he had a problem from Tuesday, told Arsenal about it.... and we ignored it? Seriously, that is just ridiculous.

Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds

Statement from Leeds United: "The club would like to make it clear that Brian McDermott remains our first team manager. He has not been dismissed from his post as has been suggested and we look forward to him continuing in his role with us in taking Leeds United forwards."

Wtf?

He did have a swing at him but Flores made a meal of it :/

Yeah perhaps he did swing at him, but he grazed the top of his head and Flores went down clutching his face. Don't know how it wasn't a foul climbing of the top of him either
