Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 4th February 2014]

Too big!!!

What's all the hubbub about McDermott?

He got sacked on Friday night, then it turns out the guy who sacked him didn't have authority to do so, so Leeds are now saying he's still the manager (and trying to get him back).

It's rather odd, and pretty unclear at the moment.

Crazy way to run a football club.

Wow ive been out for most of the day and just caught up with the scores...ermmm Stoke beat Utd?? oh dear, didnt see that coming but thats kinda lolworthy seeing as Stoke are probably going down under Hughes...so much for the Mata effect:p:D. Please carry on this form Utd when you come to the Emirates in a weeks time or so:p.

As for Arsenal, just lol at finding out Kallstrom is injured now for at least 6 games. So in reality there was absolutely no ****ing point in signing him on a loan and now i hear hes being shipped back to Russia lololol. What makes it even more stupid/retard is that Wenger knew about his injury but still gave the go ahead to sign him on loan. I dont know how true that rumour is but geezus almighty if that is true then Wenger seriously needs his head checked for making possibly one of the worst jan transfer signings that i can recall.

Anyhow hoping that tomo we can get back to winning ways against Palace but wouldnt be surprised if we draw or even lose tomo.

The other week when I meant funny Moyes/Utd facts, that list is pretty much it ;)

It is quite damning but those facts alone and those losses aren't why he should go. It's that he looks completely clueless about how to fix the problems that caused those losses. I keep going back to, if you institute huge changes, be it tactical, style or completely changing the squad and you lose a bunch more games while you try to make huge changes... that is understandable. While simply trying to mimic what Fergie did(to a large degree), being too scared to make sweeping changes, or imposing some kind of actual working system on the team, dropping off that badly is pretty awful.

Palace tomorrow, I don't know, if we play as shockingly poorly as we did against Southampton, who knows. Striker returns to previous club syndrome........., Flamini being an idiot and leaving us short in midfield, tiredness/burned out look of half the team due to lack of rotation. On the face of it I don't think Palace have much of a chance if we're on own game, but that is the question for Arsenal at this time of the year. I think this will be a game we likely comfortably win, but will somehow manage to screw ourselves further for the big games coming up. Wenger playing Ozil yet again and watch him get injured till end of season, or a red card for a CB, something stupid.

Wenger probably got a backhander for signing Kallstrom. I can't think why else he would have signed a player for injury cover who was injured himself!

There are so many damning comments about Moyes all over the place at the moment, but the sad thing is, you can't disagree with most of them.

Has he lost the dressing room to some degree? Hard to say. He might have done. This is the greatest concern for me. If this has happened, or is happening, there's no way back.

Does he have a philosophy or style that he's trying to impose on the team? No. His main focus is our full backs crossing from the byline. How is that going to work then?! Why bother trying to do anything else.

Why was Ashley Young taking almost all of our set pieces, when Mata/Rooney/RvP are all better at it?

Kagawa couldn't even make the bench (he's fully fit) in a team where Ashley Young was a nailed on starter.

His comments. I understand he can't hang the team out to dry and should stick up for them, but saying he's really happy with how we played, when pretty much everyone says it was one of the worst performances of the season, surely indicates a ridiculous level of delusion on his part? Utterly bizarre. I don't want to hear "we played really well and were unlucky", it's making my blood boil.

I'm trying to be patient and I never expected this to be easy. Losing some games isn't a huge issue for me, but the manner of the losses are horrific. Even the wins are poor. Yes our squad isn't the best, but it's not that bad. We've now got an extremely potent attack, but without some drastic tactical changes (which there are no signs of), this will continue...

Rome wasn't built in a day, but some of it was.

cut to the chase

Moyes has to go

I'm prepared to give him a few more games to see if he can at least make it look as if he's got some sort of clue tactically, but I'm not expecting much. Our hopes of top four are pretty much ruined with no sign of it getting better. He's won 12 league games and lost 8!

He just makes so many bizarre decisions, like he doesn't know what he's doing. Carrick had to go to centre back (because he didn't put a proper one on the bench), so he puts on Welbeck... err, okay. Why not Fletcher, and avoid having to put Rooney in central midfield; he's not much of a threat there, and threat is what we needed. What did Welbeck do when he came on? **** all.

If Moyes has lost the dressing room then he has to be sacked in summer. No point in giving him another season.
I don't recall Everton being this bad or even bad last season. Stupid sub decisions and stupid lineups, looks like pressure has got to him and he's got no clue what to do.
