Ok so pre Christmas I got Resident evil 4 HD on xbox.

I forgot how good it was!

I now have all achievments and I am on a third playthrough however I feel after this I need a new game.

Thing is I cannot think what to play next!

I have Resi 5 achievments, trying 6 on pc but really cannot get into it!

Anything remotely similar? or 2/3 as good ?

Code Veronica HD?

Had considered this.

However I have it on Dreamcast and PS2, so £14.99 seems steep!

I feel the only way I would want to play this one again would be for the achievements!

Only one I had not played at all was 3, completed this on DC last year.

Feel your pain with re6 after Leon story each one just gets worse so if your past that just expect disappointed you may enjoy it then lol I thought Ada may of been good but it wasn't either :(, replay 2 it's best one

I played the demo and really disliked the non leon one.

So i got Resi 6 cheap in steam sale with the idea just to do the Leon mission.

I ended up trying to use the knife against the first mini boss as it was not scary another.

I had a look at the most recent Silent Hills but they seem to get very poor reviews!

If you're going to play Veronica then prepare to get raped. I've played all the Resident Evil games and Code Veronica is by far the hardest one. It's still really good though but it does have undertones on incest if I remember right.

I have completed it twice on other consoles, so will probably only get it in "HD" if there is a price drop.

I have heard its a beast to get the 1000/1000.

They're pretty easy iirc.

I was just going off what I read from 360 achievments, I think they were talking in comparison to RE4.

From what I remember about CV, when I played it on the dreamcast, I seem to remember getting to the tyrant on a plane and not having enough ammo to do the job and having to restart. I have improved since then though!

tried the dead space games?

I tried 1 a good while ago but could not get into it.

I have 1 and 3 on the pc, may just try 3!

The issue I have is if I do not get into a game relatively quickly, i then struggle to make time for it. then by the time I get back to said game, i cannot remember where I was up to etc.

When I get hooked like RE4 i put the hours in.

ironically the one you dont have (DS2) is probably the better game of the trilogy, while not being a survival horror title like DS1 it did streamline the controls of the original (DS1 is pretty clunky to play) and played far better as a result. DS3 unfortunately was just a bad cash in with silly micro transactions attached throughout.

I'm glad that's the only story I completed then!

I started Chris' story but found it so boring.

PS: OP, how about Silent Hill, or if you would prefer a Resident Evil 4 clone-ish type of survival horror try Dead Space.

Dead Space is excellent, superb atmosphere and attention to detail and genuinely creepy. DS2 spoiled it and DS3 is just a generic space-themed Third Person Shooter. Terrible to see a series with such potential driven into the ground so rapidly.

In repsonse to some of the silent hill questions.

Played 1,2,3

Own 2 on PS2.

I heard they went downhill after that?

I considered the 2/3HD pack for 360 then read a lot about technical issues!

I finished Silent Hill: Homecoming on the 360 and while it's by no means the greatest survival horror ever it was fairly enjoyable. Quite short though from what I remember and I wouldn't bother with the HD versions of the older games, from a technical standpoint they're a shambles.
