I bought and built my first PC in 1997. I used an Amiga A1200 to browse the web and IRC before that.

It was:
Asus intel TX chipset motherboard.
AMD K6 233MHz MMX
3.2GB HDD
Matrox Mystique
Soundblaster AWE 64

I can't remember how much memory it had but it was on a DIMM. I have a feeling it was 32MB. I know I had 64MB by the time Windows 98 came around.

My first computer was built by my mate. Don't remember the full specs but here goes:
-AMD Athlon 650 MHz overclocked to 850
-Voodoo 4 4500!
128mb RAM (I think)
Had SOOO many fans sounded like a jet engine when it was fired up lol

486 sx 25 mhz. 4 speed cd rom lol. 14" viglen monitor. I think 2mb of ram and 0.5gb hard disk. later upgraded to a quantum bigfoot 2.1 i think. cant remember the graphics. played chuck yaeger great though.

my first pc
486 66mhz,
4mb ram and 100mb hdd (i think)

only used for premier manager 95/98 and the ski game that was on windows :)

first family pc was a packard bell 400mhz with 32mb ram and a 400gb Hdd.

My first desktop PC was a prebuilt from a lesser known pc builder in 2010.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 560 BE
GPU: XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770
MoBo: Asus M4N68T
Case: Xigmatek Asgard
RAM: 4GB Corsair XMS3 1600Mhz
HDD: 500GB WD Green

That's the specs I remember. I then started upgrading it the following year (GPU > CPU/MoBo > Case) with parts from OcUK to get the build I have now:

CPU: Intel i5 2500k
GPU: Asus Radeon HD 6950 DirectCU II 2GB
MoBO: Z68X-UD3H-B3
Case: Corsair Carbide 400R
RAM: 8GB Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz
HDD: 1x 2TB WD Green, 1x 500GB WD Green
SSD: 128GB Crucial M4

Got myself a nice rig which I am proud to say I built myself.

Socket 133A mobo
Some Athlon cpu i cannot recall
Nvidia GTS 2(?) gpu, 64MB
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
Iiyama Vision Master Pro 451 (that lasted at least 10 years)

From Time computers in 2001

AMD Athlon 900mhz
40gb HD
TNT 2 graphics but i swapped it straight out for a 64mb Gforce 2
19" CRT
128mb RAM (100hz) but i swapped that striaght out for 256mb (133hz)

Yeah the Cyrix was terrible. No floating point performance which made it useless at everything!

Duke, did you get all of the "Award" pack of CD-ROM games with your Escom PC? Like Dawn Patrol, Zool and I ton of others - just trying to think!

Hmm don't remember that no :( We had ours in for repair and almost lost it as they went under that week.. had to get in the shop and get the machine back at short notice.

Packard bell P1 cant remember the Mhz but I know it was under 100
300MB HD
16MB of ram
1 of the Voodoo cards running windows 95
Cost £1300

Who can remember Microsoft comic chat lol

I remember having to writescripts to reduce the base memory usage and enable extended memory to play games!
